Chorkie in a Blanket Isn’t a Dog, He’s a French Fry-Eating Monster
OK, I need you to picture this because I was not prepared. It’s just a blanket on a bed. Normal blanket. Nothing suspicious. And then… a fry disappears into it. Not falls. Not rolls away. Disappears like the blanket itself demanded tribute.
There is a hole. A very intentional hole. And inside that hole is Kate, a tiny Chorkie who has apparently evolved into a full-time blanket creature who survives exclusively on French fries. I would like to enroll immediately.

♬ original sound - Viral Music HitsTikTok user @blainej41 shows Kate being fed fries one by one through the blanket portal, which feels less like pet parenting and more like servicing a small, cozy food hole. She doesn’t emerge. She doesn’t explain herself. She just accepts the offerings. Honestly? Respect.
“If there’s a fry… there’s a way,” one person wrote, which feels like a life motto.

Another called her the “cutest blanket goblin ever.”
Someone else asked, “Where did you get a blanket that eats fries?” and I would also like to know because mine has been freeloading for years.
“That’s a fry hole!” one commenter declared, which is both accurate and slightly alarming.
And then there was the very relatable: “That’s exactly how I want to be fed French fries in bed,” which… yes. Correct. No notes.
Meatball would absolutely weaponize this situation. He would rip the hole larger, crawl inside, and then scream if the fry delivery slowed even slightly. Kingston, the Pomeranian, would panic because he prefers his snacks visible and supervised at all times. Kate, meanwhile, has achieved peak comfort. She has transcended doghood.
Also, I’m not saying this looks like a luxury service I would pay for, but I’m also not, not saying that. Sign me up.

♬ this is what it look like - lucasA Chorkie is a mix between a Chihuahua and a Yorkshire Terrier. These tiny dogs often combine the Chihuahua’s bold personality with the Yorkie’s soft coat and energy.
Chorkies tend to be affectionate, alert, and deeply attached to their people. They may be small, but they rarely act like it. Many have big watchdog energy packed into a body the size of a loaf of bread.
Because of their size, they’re well-suited for apartment living, though they still need playtime, mental stimulation, and apparently, the occasional blanket portal feeding situation.

Golden Retriever Playing With Toddler Outside Feels Like Pure Childhood Magic
There’s something timeless about kids and dogs playing together, especially when neither of them is holding back their joy, so all we see is the purest of fun. They just get each other, and they have a language understanding that requires no words. Because of that, the laughter comes easily, and every movement or found object becomes a game, and the world feels soft and simple for a moment.
That is the vibe in this video of a Golden Retrieverplaying outside with a toddler, taken from a candid angle that makes this feel straight out of a Disney movie. These two are definitely creating magic and lasting memories that will live on forever. And we get a small pinch of that just by watching this video.

The best part of the video is that you don't even need the sound on to know they're having the time of their lives. The dog's tail is wagging so fast back and forth, and the little girl's smile can be seen from this distance. Of course, if you do have the sound up, you can hear the little girl's giggles and screams as the dog helps her zoom faster and faster.

“Always have two cats! Don‘t keep them alone.”
When To Get Your Cat a CompanionThe decision to welcome another cat into your family depends on kitty personality and behavior. While many cats are content alone, others, especially younger or highly social ones, may benefit from companionship. A second kitty can offer stimulation, but may cause stress if the original cat is territorial or a senior.
And let’s be honest, the new combination could stress pet parents, too, if the new addition enjoys activities like treating sofas like scratching posts and knocking things off the table! But, of course, with guidance, training, and accessories, you can treat those issues.
Still, maybe the best thing to do is stand behind this new stay-at-home-with-your-cat movement!
Longhaired Dachshund Looks Like He's in His Emo Era
Attention! Attention! I would like to formally report that this Longhaired Dachshund has bangs. Not fur that fell accidentally. Not wind-blown fluff. Bangs. The kind that say, “You don’t get me,” while softly staring out a rainy window. Charlie, a Longhaired Dachshund, is firmly in his emo era. The hair. The bangs. The perfectly placed swoop falling over one eye, like he’s about to headline Warped Tour. I did not wake up expecting to be emotionally moved by a Dachshund with side-swept bangs, and yet here we are.
In the clip, he’s simply standing there. His silky fur drapes over his eye in a way that feels intentional. Like he practiced in the mirror. Like he woke up like this. One person joked, “Not the scene Ween!” Another wrote, “It’s not a phase, Mom!” Someone else dramatically added, “No one understands him, and he feels like they never will. He’ll go to his room and listen to Linkin Park.” And honestly? I believe it.

Most Longhaired Dachshunds benefit from brushing several times a week, along with occasional trims to keep the coat neat. Professional grooming can help maintain shape, but many families manage upkeep at home with the right tools and patience.

Anxious German Shepherd Gently Bonds With New Kitten and We Are Emotional
A normally anxious 8-year-old German Shepherd is melting hearts after meeting the family’s new kitten. His mom wasn't sure about how the introduction would go, but this gentle dog quickly leaned into the tiny newcomer, and the two were on their way to being best friends.
The cuddling began almost right away, with the patient pup allowing the friendly tuxedo kitten to nuzzle up right into his space. Moments later, the kitten endeared himself to us forever by using the dog's paws like a slide, with the Shepherd unfazed. It was so precious, their mom replayed the interaction in the video for us all to enjoy again. The two progressed to sharing a water bowl, a bed, and a wholesome bond that only two boys as sweet as these two could have.

German Shepherds and Cats: BFFs or Frenemies? As is evidenced by this video, German Shepherds can be very gentle, affectionate, and loyal family companions. They can also live peacefully with cats, but it rarely happens by accident. The breed’s working and herding background means they’re alert, energetic, and often inclined to chase smaller moving animals. With the right setup, though, many households successfully keep both under the same roof.
The key is a slow, structured introduction. Start by giving each pet their own space, then let them get used to each other’s scent before any face-to-face meeting. Early interactions should be brief, supervised, and calm, with the dog on a leash. Over time, you can gradually increase access as both animals relax.
There can still be bumps — chasing, overstimulated play, or territorial tension — and some pairs take months to adjust. The goal isn’t instant friendship, but mutual comfort and safety. With patience, management, and consistency, many German Shepherds learn that the cat is simply part of the family.

Abandoned Bulldog Mix With Cancer Gets Heartwarming 'Next Chapter' That'll Make You Cry
Niall Harbison rescues and rehabilitates street dogs every single day through his Thailand dog rescue, Happy Doggo. Sometimes, kind-hearted locals alert him to homeless canines in dire need of help.
Timber, who appears to be a Bulldog-Pit Bull mix, was suffering on the streets until Harbison was called in to get the ailing pooch the medical care he needed.
View this post on InstagramThe Instagram video from @wearehappydoggo shared the one-year-old dog's story while describing his gentle demeanor.
"How can a dog this young and sweet be left behind?" the onscreen text asked as Timber sniffed the camera. "That was our first thought when we heard about Timber."
Timber's parents moved and left the poor pup behind. He was found in a box on the side of the road by a kind woman who "took him in and cared for him the best she could".
"When she noticed he was bleeding and clearly uncomfortable, the vet bills became too much," the story continued. "She made the difficult but loving decision to ask us for help."
Timber Has a Treatable CancerThe Bulldog mix was brought to Happy Doggo's medical clinic for treatment, where it was discovered he has a form of cancer often found in street dogs that can be prevented by sterilization.
"Timber has TVT (Transmissible Venereal Tumour) - a contagious but highly treatable cancer most commonly seen in unsterilized street dogs," the caption explained. "It spreads through close contact, which is why sterilization is so important in preventing cases like this."

It will take time for Timber to recover, but the Happy Doggo team is fully committed to helping him every step of the way. The precious pooch already bonded with one of the rescue staff members and may have a forever home in the near future.
"His chemo journey has started — and so has the next chapter of his life," the caption concluded.
Harbison launched Happy Doggo in 2021. In addition to the sterilization and daily feeding of thousands of street dogs, he recently opened a full-service medical clinic in honor of his beloved Golden Retriever, Tina.

Orange Kitten's 'Razzle-Dazzle' Greeting Makes Him the Cutest Gymnast
Somewhere in the universe is a master cat creator who determines which traits go to which breeds, probably, but some specific kitties are curiously similar. For example, have you noticed all the tangerine-tinted felines seem to be carbon copies of each other? Their bizarre, questionable life choices make them a popular family companion, but also the gold standard for what "peak chaos" looks like in cat form.
If you've seen one Orange Cat, you might think you've seen them all. Leo is one ginger kitten who takes that expectation up a few notches, as he meets his new cat brother Motley for the first time—and it's everything orange should be!
@k8december12Motley and Leo meeting for the first time. (Leo is the baby)
♬ original sound - KateIn the funny video, Leo the Orange Kitten, introduces himself to the resident cat, Motley. His wild, razzle-dazzle moves are comparable to a wrestler, gymnast, or circus performer for an unimpressed audience. This teeny-tiny baby boy is what peak orange behavior really looks like, and thousands of the kitten's new fans are here for it.
"This video could be in black and white, and we would all still know that Leo is orange," one person joked. "Orange Cat is oranging so hard, even the other cat is confused," another added.
One follower hilariously highlighted Leo's crazy moves, writing that he's part of "The Australian break dance team, Paris Olympics 2024."

Motley takes Leo's strange and mysterious ways like a champ. Maybe he understands the kitten is operating on only one brain cell, or he's as amused as the rest of us. There's no reason to fear or feel intimidated by anyone with the level of "derpiness" Leo exhibits!
Either way, Leo is so very orange, doing the absolutely most orange throughout the day, and Motley just goes with it. This is sibling goals right here.
@k8december12More Leo and Motley
♬ original sound - Kate Why Orange Tabby Cats Are So QuirkyScientifically speaking, research shows that most orange felines are male (80%), and they tend to be more extroverted, outgoing, and social, which can come off as silly or goofy at times. "Perception bias" might also be a factor, meaning we expect Orange Cats to act a certain way, so we're always looking for it.
A 2025 study also suggests that there's a specific gene, called Arhgap36, which is responsible for the orange coloring, and it might also contribute to their odd behaviors and interesting choices, but it's something scientists are still investigating.
Whatever the reason for Leo's unique greeting, he's a little cutie winning over Motley, and all of us, one orange brain cell at a time!

This Golden Retriever’s Fake Pet Prank Is So Relatable to Pet Parents
Golden retrievers have long had a reputation as one of the best family dogs. One of the reasons for that is they love cuddles and are more than happy to spend the entire day playing with their owners. But what happens when their owner fakes affection?
In a TikTok video from @brewthegoldenn captioned “Just another day of my fiancé raige baiting our dog by giving him fake pets,” we see a man pranking a golden retriever.
The man puts his hands to pet the dog, but he keeps them at just enough of a distance to avoid actually petting his dog.
@brewthegoldennhe got so mad at the end 😭 #dog #funnydog #dogcomedy
♬ Blue Danube Waltz - The London Symphony OrchestraInitially, the golden retriever sits patiently, clearly expecting the usual scratches and loving rubs. However, his owner performs the motion of petting, only to never touch him. By the end of the video, the confused dog has had enough, and tries to pull his owner by the T-shirt to get real pets. And at all times, his tail doesn’t stop wagging, a clear sign of the bond these two share despite pranks like this one.
How the Internet ReactedMost fans sided with Brew on this one. What they want to see the most is a point of view from the golden retriever’s perspective.
They commented things like “Need Brew’s voiceover on this one”, “Can’t wait for Brews POV of this in his next vlog,” and “Can’t wait to hear what Brew has to say about this.”
Judging by the connection the dog has with the man in the video, we can be sure he gets plenty of real pets as well.
Are Golden Retrievers Clingy?Golden retrievers thrive on human interaction and love being around their owner’s side. Often called clingy or “Velcro” dogs, they may follow their owners from room to room, sit on their feet, demand cuddles and ask for attention in any possible way.
Golden retrievers want nothing more than to be close to their owners and get their affection. Without proper training to be left alone, they may even develop separation anxiety.
Related: This Golden Retriever's Hilarious Reaction to Olympic Bobsleigh Is Pure Comedy
And if this video proves anything, it's that any golden retriever will do anything to get his owner’s attention. Bred originally as companion hunting dogs, they've always worked closely alongside humans.
Over generations, that bond with people became one of their defining traits. Compared to more independent breeds, golden retrievers are clingy, but for most pet parents, that devotion is the reason that makes them so lovable.
Why Do Dogs Love Petting So Much? For dogs, petting is more than just an enjoyable experience, it is a biologically rewarding experience. The hilarious reaction you see in the video is more than just a dog being a drama king. There is actual science behind his reaction.
Physical touch triggers the release of oxytocin in dogs. Called the “love hormone,” it helps strengthen social bonds and promote feelings of comfort and trust.
For dogs, petting equals connection, safety and reassurance. This is why Brew reacted so dramatically to fake pets. From his perspective, he is offered pets only for them to disappear at the last second. Fortunately for him, the prank doesn’t last long and he gets the love and attention he wants and deserves.

6 Cat Tail Signs That Show Love, According to a Vet
While cats are cute, cuddly, curious creatures, they can also be downright confusing to understand. In fact, attempts to read your own sofa lion's mind may cause you to feel like you're losing yours. Is your cat in a good mood? Hating life? Plotting your demise? Dare we say it: Happy? To find out more about how your cat's emotions and what they are trying to tell you, you might want to pay more attention to your cat's tail. After all, cats say a lot, it's just often not with their vocal cords. Keep reading to find out 6 sweet things cats say with their tail that you might miss, according to a vet.
"While cats don’t speak like humans do, cats provide us with many clues to their thoughts and emotions through their body language, as their tail can tell a lot about how they are feeling," shares Dr. Julie Hunt, DVM, a veterinarian with Embrace Pet Insurance. Understanding these cat tail signs and meanings can deepen your bond and let you respond to your cat’s emotions with love and confidence. "A cat's tail is a particularly active and telling feature, so knowing what a cat’s tail is saying is helpful at letting an owner know when to approach versus stay distant, when to comfort and when to feel loved," Dr. Hunt says.
As pet parents, to help decode these cat communication signals, Dr. Hunt reveals some of the heartwarming things cats say with their tails that many owners often miss. From signaling everything from happiness to trust and affection, you'll love discovering what all these hidden meanings are and you'll no longer think to yourself, "What does a cat’s tail mean when..."

If you've ever wished your cat was communicating more with you, you may just be missing out on how they are "talking." In fact, if you take a look at their backside, you'll find that your cat's tail is actually very expressive. To learn more about cat tail meanings, Dr. Hunt reveals some of the adorable things cats say with their tail that you may not be noticing in the ultimate guide to cat tail language and its meaning, below.
1. "I'm happy"Dr. Hunt reveals that cats signal happiness through the "social tail." Overall, it's a subtle way your cat communicates trust, joy and readiness to interact. Recognizing this feline body language cue helps deepen the bond between you and your cat, letting you respond to their happiness appropriately.
"The social tail is an upright tail when walking or standing," Dr. Hunt explains. "This upright tail says that a cat is happy, confident, sociable and is comfortable with its surroundings. The social tail is common when a cat is in its home environment and is approaching someone familiar and safe."
2. "Actually, I'm *really* happy"Cats have subtle ways of showing joy, and one of the cutest cat tail signals is the “question mark” tail. Unlike the straight social tail, the top of the tail hooks into a shape resembling a question mark—a tiny but meaningful twist that conveys extra happiness.
In terms of cat tail body language, a question mark tail is a clear sign your cat is excited, content and fully engaged with you. "This tail position demonstrates the emotions of the social tail with even more happiness," Dr. Hunt reveals.
3. "Hello"We often associate happy greetings with dogs. Though, "Hello" and "Welcome" are some of the most adorable things cats can say with their tail. However, it's also one cat tail signals you might miss or not notice when they greet you if you don't know to look for it.
"A high quivering tail is demonstrated by a cat with an upright tail position resembling the social tail, but the tail is quivering in place," Dr. Hunt says. "This tail position communicates excitement at greeting a person."
In terms of cat tail body language, this subtle feline behavior is a clear sign your cat is happy to see you and feels safe and bonded with you. Recognizing these small cues can help you understand the ways your cat shows affection, even without the full-body wiggles dogs are famous for.
Related: Meet 5 Cat Breeds That Help Reduce Stress, As Recommended by Vets
4. "I love you"Yes, cats can express affection, and they may give you a window to their hearts through their tail placement. One example of cat tail body language is the “tail whop.” If you’ve ever felt your cat gently (or not-so-gently!) thump their tail against your legs or even your face, you’ve experienced this affectionate cat tail signal firsthand.
"The 'tail whop' is a tail that purposefully hits a person’s legs or face," Dr. Hunt notes. "The tail whop is a gesture that rubs happy cat pheromones on you, so it is a friendly and affectionate action."
In terms of cat tail meaning, this behavior is more than just a playful tap. It’s actually part of how cats communicate and mark the people they trust. By spreading their scent, your cat is claiming you as safe, familiar, and part of their inner circle. It’s one of those subtle but powerful signs your cat loves you.
5. "You're my person"What does it mean when a cat wraps their tail around you? It's one way cats show affection and is one of the clearest ways you can tell they love you through body language. Enter the “wrap tail,” a powerful cat tail signal that communicates love and trust. Dr. Hunt describes this behavior as the next step up from the “tail whop.” “This is when a cat will hit a familiar and liked person’s leg with their tail—as for the 'wrap tail'—that’s when a cat will keep their tail wrapped around the person’s leg,” Dr. Hunt explains. “This posture communicates affection, trust, and a desire for closeness.”
In the world of feline body language, it’s essentially your cat’s way of saying, “You’re my person.” And honestly, that might be the sweetest message of all.
6. "Wanna chill...or play?"Cats communicate more than most pet owners realize. In fact, understanding cat tail body language is one of the best ways to interpret your pet’s emotions. Cats reveal their needs, wants, and feelings through subtle cat tail signals, including what experts call a neutral, freely moving tail.
"The neutral, freely moving tail is relaxed in a variety of positions as the cat moves," Dr. Hunt explains. "The tail is not held in any one position, but because of the relaxation of the muscles moving the tail, the tail flops as gravity pulls on it, changing position as the cat does."
When learning how to read cat tail signs, context is everything. "The neutral, freely moving tail position indicates that the cat is relaxed and happy and may want to play," Dr. Hunt says. In fact, in most cases, this type of cat tail position and meaning indicates that your cat is calm, content, and comfortable in their surroundings.

This Highly-Durable Dog Crate Is So Functional, It Blends Into Any Room's Decor With Ease
Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
For many pet owners, the "indoor-outdoor" lifestyle has moved far beyond the backyard. We are currently seeing a massive shift in interior design where pet essentials are no longer relegated to laundry rooms or garages. Instead, homeowners are seeking sophisticated ways to integrate their four-legged family members into the heart of the home without sacrificing the aesthetic of a well-curated living space.
The challenge has always been the clunky, industrial metal cage. Traditional wire crates often stick out like a sore thumb against mid-century modern or contemporary farmhouse decor. However, the latest trend in functional furniture is solving this dilemma, proving that your pet’s sanctuary can actually enhance your room's layout rather than detract from it.

Pickles the Golden Retriever Turns 1, and People Are Swooning Over His Birthday Smile
Some dogs wag their tails. Some dogs zoom. And then there’s Pickles, who appears to celebrate turning one year old by radiating pure, squinty-eyed joy.
In a heart-melting TikTok posted by Lexi of @lexiwolfiepickles, the English cream golden retriever is seen sitting sweetly as his mom walks into the room. The on-screen text reads, “Pickles is officially 1 🥳🎂🎉.”

Happy Birthday, Pickles @lexiwolfiepicklesPickles is 1!🎂🎉👑 🎈🎁#englishcreamgoldenretriever #goldenretrieverlife #dogsoftiktok #doglife #goldenretriever
♬ New Home - Penguin PianoThe second Lexi approaches him and says, “Happy birthday, happy birthday, Picky,” Pickles’ expression says everything. His eyes narrow into blissful little crescents, the corners of his mouth curve upward into what looks like a grin and his tail gives a subtle but very proud wag.
Lexi keeps the celebration going, asking, “What are we going to do today? Are we going to get you toys and treats?” As she pets him, Pickles blissfully basks in the attention. She then pans to her other cream golden, Wolfie, and asks, “Can you say happy birthday, brother?” In classic sibling fashion, the moment quickly transitions into playful wrestling.

Viewers Are Smitten With This Smiley GoldenThe comments section quickly turned into a full-blown birthday celebration, with viewers swooning over Pickles’ blissed-out expression and sending their well wishes.
Others chimed in with adorable observations. “Not him so happy he can barely wag his tail 😭🖤,” one person wrote in the video's comment section. (It was almost as if he had so much excitement bottled up that even his tail didn’t know what to do with it.)
Another added, “Golden retrievers are the angels on Earth.” (Ain't that the truth!)
And perhaps the most spot-on take of all: “Pickles is EXACTLY where he wants to be 😭🫶🏻.”
Can Dogs Actually Smile?Short answer: sort of. Dogs don’t smile in the same emotionally symbolic way humans do, but they absolutely display relaxed, happy facial expressions that resemble a smile. When a dog’s mouth is slightly open, lips relaxed, eyes soft or squinty, and body loose, it’s often a sign they’re feeling calm and content.
Golden retrievers, in particular, are known for their expressive faces. Their gentle eyes and naturally upturned mouths make their relaxed expression look especially smile-like, which is likely why Pickles’ birthday face is hitting everyone right in the feelings.
Add in a soft wag and relaxed posture, and what you’re seeing is a dog who feels safe, loved and comfortable in his environment. And that’s really the best birthday gift of all.
Happy first birthday, Pickles. Keep shining!

Baby Monkey 'Punch' Who Went Viral After Being Abandoned Gets the Most Fitting Surprise
Sometimes life hands you the worst possible beginning, and somehow through sheer will and determination you figure out how to make it work anyway. That's basically Punch's entire story. He's the sweet little macaque who could.
This tiny macaque was born last July at Ichikawa City Zoo outside Tokyo. Within just a few days, his mom abandoned him. She was probably overwhelmed ( like all new moms)—first baby, scorching summer heat, difficult labor. Whatever her motivation, she wasn't interested in caring for him in the least.
For a baby macaque, that maternal rejection is absolutely devastating. They're supposed to cling to their mothers constantly. That's how these babies feel safe. That's how they build up their little muscles.
@spoontamagoJust days after birth, baby macaque ‘Punch’ was abandoned by his mother and rescued by zookeepers at Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan’s Chiba Prefecture. When he was about 1 week old he was given an oversized orangutan stuffed animal so he wouldn’t be lonely. Punch quickly became attached to the stuffed animal, treating it like the mother he never had and sleeping with it, eating with it and playing with it. Earlier this month, when he was about 6 months old, zookeepers began the journey of integrating Punch with other monkeys at the zoo. It hasn’t been easy for little Punch, but his plush “mom” has proven to be a vital tool of support. He carries it with him everywhere and retreats to when he feels scared or anxious. Punch’s attachment to the stuffed animal not only surprised staff at the zoo but has captured the hearts of people across Japan. Unprecedented lines are forming at the zoo as people swarm to cheer on Punch-kun, as he is affectionately called. The hashtag “ganbare punch” (がんばれパンチ), or “you can do it, Punch” has garnered thousands of likes and posts.
♬ Little Life - Robert GromotkaZookeepers knew Punch needed someone or something to hold onto. When he was about a week old, they tried different options—towels and other toys. Punch chose an oversized stuffed orange orangutan from IKEA. Maybe it was because it had long limbs he could grab on to or maybe because it looked enough like a monkey. Either way, that plushie orangutan has become Punch's 'mom' for better or worse.
Literally, this six-month-old monkey takes his plushie everywhere. Whatever Punch is doing, sleeping, eating, or playing—his 'mom' is there with him. It's his security blanket, his comfort object, and his whole world. To him, she is mom.
Then came the hard part. In January, zookeepers started trying to get Punch to join the other monkeys. He'd bring his plushie along, but the other adults weren't very welcoming. Videos showed them swatting Punch away when he approached. Poor Punch spent a lot of time alone, playing by himself.
Whenever things got too scary or stressful, he'd run back to his plushie orangutan.
That's when the internet found out about him and his unconventional predicament. Someone started the hashtag #HangInTherePunch and suddenly the world was invested in this little monkey's emotional well-being and macaque social life.

The comments got incredibly emotional. "Wait, because Punch, if you need a mom, I'm available" might be my favorite offer of interspecies adoption ever.
Another person said "Get me a monkey suit and show me where he is. I'll live with them for as long as it takes 😭," which is commitment.
"Why am I bawling for little Punch baby?" asked approximately everyone watching these videos.
People kept announcing they were "not emotionally stable enough for this." One person described it perfectly: "I feel like I just got shot."
Baby Macaque Punch Is Finally Making Friends at Japanese ZooHere's where it gets good.
New videos started appearing. Punch climbing onto another monkey's back, an adult grooming him and Punch sitting calmly with the group. And then—the big one—Punch getting an actual hug from another monkey.
The internet collectively exhaled. "Thank you to the folks who sent photo evidence that Punch got a hug by another member of the pack!! I'm still sobbing, but it's also tinged with relief!!" wrote one fan who'd clearly been worried about this lovable little orphan.
People started showing up at the zoo in droves. One weekend saw just over 8,000 visitors—double the traffic they'd normally get. Families were driving hours just to stand at monkey mountain and yell encouragement at a six-month-old macaque, Punch. Sometimes a little encouragement can mean the difference between happiness and loneliness
Punch is now the zoo's biggest celebrity.

He still carries his plushie 'mom' everywhere. She's not going anywhere. But now, he's also got real monkeys who groom him, tolerate his poking around, and let him be part of the group. He is getting acceptance from his pack.
The little guy who started out completely alone? He's got a whole troop now. Plus an entire internet of people cheering him on.
Punch is making it work. And honestly? We could all learn something from that. Hang in there, Punch!
Dog Breed Ranked 'Rarest in the World' Is Also the Least-Popular
Puffin hunting was previously a practice in Norway, mostly focused on the Lofoten Islands. This remote area north of the Arctic Circle stays above freezing temperatures thanks to the lukewarm Gulf Stream waters.
With written records going back to the 1400s, a specific dog breed was created to hunt Puffins before nets were used. Puffin hunting is now outlawed in Norway, but there are some of these special dogs still in existence.
Norwegian Lundehund Image via Getty/ullstein bildToday, the Norwegian Lundehund is considered one of the rarest canines in the world, ranking 197th among 197 AKC-recognized dog breeds. Known as "Puffin dogs", these sturdy pooches could climb sheer, slippery cliffs to ambush Puffin nests to bring back to hunters.
Centuries ago, Lundehunds were more valuable than cows due to their unique hunting prowess and ability to navigate tough terrain. Top canines captured up to 80 Puffins per day to be used for fresh meat, as well as the bird's down for quilts and pillows. Dogs were given any leftovers as a reward.
Puffins weren't the easiest birds to catch. Lundehunds had to deal with their beaks and talons, which could cause serious gashes. These dogs had to act as contortionists to make their way through rocky, narrow crevices and tunnels. Lundehunds learned to bend their heads back far enough to touch their spine to move about through cramped spaces.
This breed can also fold their ears tight enough to keep water and debris out. Lundehunds are polydactyl, meaning they have extra digits to help them climb.
Lundehunds Almost Became ExtinctOnce nets were created to capture Puffins, Lundehunds lost their main purpose and were no longer in need of service. They were almost extinct by the 1930s. By the 1960s, just six purebred Lundehunds were still in Norway. Every Lundehund today comes from four of those dogs, who were all related.
Related: Rare Breed With Fewer Than 300 Pups Born Each Year Dazzles Crowd at National Dog Show
The Norwegian Kennel Club and other organizations are trying to preserve the breed by crossing it with other Spitz breeds close in geographic proximity. Male Lundehunds are being paired with the female Norwegian Buhund, Icelandic Sheepdog, and Norrbottenspets to keep the genetic line going.
Dog handlers are finding new jobs for Lundehunds to apply their coveted skills, such as serving at Norwegian airports where bird strikes are an increasing threat. These unique dogs thrive when working, which helps keep their breed in existence.

Corgi Puppy’s Bunny Hops of Chaos Have Brothers Ready for Spring Break
Puppies are so much. When I first got my last one, I was actually a wreck: she was (and still is) insane. They depend on you for everything, and even more than that, they make a habit of annoying any other animals
One Corgi puppy is the best at all of that and more. While he might be really, really cute, he's also the most annoying puppy his family has ever encountered. They love him for it, but sometimes they definitely wish he could be a little less... himself:
@xx.mothperson.xxI love when I catch proof of Rex being a foot puppy still. He’s a grumpy boy usually 😂 Red corgi is Captain Rex, dark black corgi is Nimbus, and the pretty girl in the front is a corgi x American Eskimo dog named Winry Rockbell 💕 #captainrex #nimbus #winryrockbell #corgisoftiktok #corgi
♬ The Muppet Show - Main Title - Dominik HauserRex the Corgi apparently really likes feet. They're his favorite, whether they belong to his favorite humans or his siblings. He's after them at all times, though as he's gotten a little bit older, he goes after them a little less frequently than he used to.
When he does, though, it's relentless, a little annoying, and very silly. Typically, it includes:
- Hopping.
- Barking.
- Nipping.
- Growling.
He's a strong-willed boy, that's for sure!
Related: Corgi Abandons Dog Show ‘For the Fans’ and We’re Loving It
Usually, it only ends when one of his siblings puts him in his place. You can see that happening in this video, too: the one whose paws are on the chopping block gets down off the couch and really close to him.
She's not necessarily being aggressive; she just wants to make it clear that she's had enough. Rex is a smart boy, though, and he backs right off! Don't worry, they're usually besties. There's also another brother who loves to take up mom's attention:
@xx.mothperson.xxStormageddon aka Stormy. He’s the cutest pup ever 🥰#stormageddon #huskysoftiktok #huskypuppy #cutedog #cuddles
♬ original sound - 🪴🍄MommaMoth🍄🪴This bunch of babies is way too cute for their own good. How is Mom ever supposed to get mad at them?!
Corgis Are BitersAs someone who wanted a Corgi more than anything at one point, I've done extensive research into the breed. Ultimately, I decided that they're not for me, mostly because they can be prone to biting.
Corgis are herding dogs. That means these dogs love to:
- Chase.
- Bark.
- Nip (especially at feet/ankles).
Training will definitely help solve this issue, but it won't necessarily get rid of it completely. Corgis can also be stubborn! Wear socks and try your best not to put your feet in the line of fire!

This Anxiety-Reducing Dog Vest Is a Must-Have for Nervous Pups
Parade Pets aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Watching a pet suffer through a panic attack is one of the most heartbreaking experiences a pet owner can face. Whether it is the sudden boom of a summer thunderstorm or the high-pitched whistle of neighborhood fireworks, the physiological response in dogs is often intense. Pacing, panting, and destructive chewing are more than just bad behaviors; they are cries for help from a nervous system stuck in "fight or flight" mode. For many households, finding a solution that doesn't involve heavy sedation or expensive behavioral therapy is a top priority.
Traditional methods of managing canine stress often fall short because they only address one sense at a time. While some owners try playing white noise and others try physical pressure, the modern approach to pet wellness suggests that a multi-sensory strategy is the most effective way to lower a dog's cortisol levels. By combining tactile comfort with auditory and olfactory triggers, it is possible to create a "safety bubble" for your furry friend, allowing them to remain calm even when the world around them feels chaotic and loud.

Crafted from soft, machine-washable fabric, the vest is as practical for the owner as it is comfortable for the dog. Pet parents are already seeing incredible results. One reviewer shared: “This settled him right down. The music was a nice touch, added distraction. Buddy hates the thunder, firecrackers and gunshots that happen in our rural area quite frequently. I have the other name brand one and the quality of this one is same or better material... We prefer the cozy vest over all. He is a rotund 65 # mix and the xl fit great. Snug but not so much to be constricted.” Another owner noted the long-term benefits during major life changes: “This has been one of the best investments I’ve ever made. We recently moved so my baby is more anxious than normal and this has turned him into a new dog. Everyone that comes over notices a difference.”

Gorgeous Afghan Hound Turns a Normal Walk Into a Red Carpet Event
Going for a walk outside is a very common occurrence for dogs and their parents, and it’s often a big part of their daily exercise routine. It’s also common for a dog to go for a leisurely stroll down the street at least once per day, maybe after dinner, to help work out the end-of-the-night energy reserves. Walks are a mundane part of being a dog parent. It’s hard to turn an everyday event into something that draws attention.
Yes, it’s hard, but clearly not impossible, as we learn from a video of a stunning Afghan Hound who steps outside, and it instantly shifts the mood into feeling more like a glamorous public appearance down a fancy red carpet. It’s really incredible—take a look!
@emmaclara03My handsome dude does usually get stopped at least once to be said hi to #afghanhound #dogsoftiktok #adoptorshopresponsibly
♬ original sound - BreazyOn February 13, 2026, @emmaclara03 shared a video of her beautiful Afghan Hound named Sherman, a rare, regal dog who looks like he's straight out of Hollywood. All he's doing is going for a walk with his human, who's holding a typical purple lead, and the two are walking down a typical street. But watching his fur bounce with every step he's taking makes this whole road look as if it were a red carpet for the world's hottest movie star.
According to the comment his parent left in the clip's caption, this purebred boy gets "stopped at least once" every time they're outside just because someone walking by wants to say hi to this "handsome dude."
Related: Rare Dog Breed's Playful Spirit and Love of the Outdoors Is Stealing Hearts
In the comments, hundreds of people took the opportunity to shower Sherman with praise for his regal stature and his beautiful, fluffy coat.
One person wrote, "I rarely see ANY purebreds that aren't Goldens or Labs, so when I saw a West Highland Terrier out the other day, I was like, 'OMG, OMG,' and my mom didn't get it."
Another shared, "I would freak out if I saw one of these in person. I have loved this breed since 101 Dalmatians."
Someone else added, "Oh my gosh, SO well maintained. We have an Afghan in my grooming salon, and it's such a relief to see another well-maintained dog."
Other comments included, "They just remind me of runway models, such elegant dogs," "Me with my Lhasa Apso who will get confused with a Shih-Tzu," "This how I feel about my mutt cause they’ll never be another one like her," and "I get so excited whenever I see a purebred dog that isn’t a Lab or Golden."

How To Care for an Afghan Hound's CoatThis beautiful dog breed is best known for its long, soft, fluffy coat. And that means knowing how to groom their fur is essential, not just for how they look but also for their overall health.
According to the American Kennel Club, Afghan Hounds have a long, silky coat and a very low shedding level. However, grooming their fur does require near-daily maintenance. The site explains that you should expect to set aside several hours per week for brushing, keeping their hair free of mats and tangles, and removing any debris stuck in there from walking or playing. These pups also require regular bathing with shampoo and conditioner to help them look their best.
It's clear from this video that Sherman is a very well-loved dog, and that certainly plays into the red carpet vibe of this pup.
Fate of Goldendoodle Ditched By Heartless Human at Las Vegas Airport Has People Crying Happy Tears
A two-year-old mini Goldendoodle left behind at a Las Vegas airport ticket counter is getting a second chance at happiness. Now aptly re-named Jetblue by rescuers, the friendly pup is safe, cared for, and already winning hearts as he waits for a permanent home.
Some stories are harder to write than others, and this one ranks near the top. While feeling outrage is a normal reaction to watching the following news clip about this story, we can take heart in knowing that this sweet pup is in excellent hands and will find a wonderful forever home with people who will cherish him.
While it's hard for me to fathom this type of cruelty, I also try to remind myself that some people underestimate the responsibility of caring for a dog and believe they are doing what's best for the animal by surrendering it. Of course, this is no excuse for this woman's behavior or her methods, but Jetblue will no doubt be better off with capable, caring humans to give him everything he needs to thrive.
Viewers of the video were indeed livid over the woman's actions, but many more were raising their hands to adopt this beautiful boy (in his brand-new blue collar!).
As one person put it, "I've got a good feeling the dog has a good chance of finding a forever home."
We couldn't agree more and would LOVE to see the follow-up of Jetblue's eventual fairytale ending.

Mini Goldendoodle 101
Thinking about adopting Jetblue or another deserving mini Goldendoodle? This article has everything you need to decide whether this pint-sized pup is right for you and your family. We've pulled some highlights to get you started:
Mini Goldendoodles have been everywhere since the 1990s --They’re a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Miniature Poodle, combining the Golden’s gentle personality with the Poodle’s intelligence and trainability. The result is a small-to-medium dog that’s affectionate, social, and eager to please — a classic family companion.
Their size and nearly shed-free coats are appealing -- Most weigh about 15–35 pounds and come with soft, fluffy coats that can be wavy, curly, or straight. They shed lightly (often a plus for allergy-sensitive households), but they do require regular brushing and grooming to prevent tangles.
They're more teddy bear than tiger -- Temperament-wise, they’re friendly and playful with kids, other dogs, and often even cats if introduced properly. They’re not guard dogs — they’re much more likely to greet a stranger than warn you about one. Their smarts make training relatively easy, though their energy means they need daily exercise and mental stimulation to stay out of mischief.
Mini Goldendoodles thrive on companionship and can develop separation anxiety if left alone for long stretches. In short: they’re adaptable, loving, and great for first-time owners — but they do need attention, activity, and consistent care to really shine.
