In a video shared to TikTok, Fancy can be seen sitting on her throne in the passenger seat of mom’s car. Not only is the Pug sporting her adorable pink tutu, Fancy has a birthday hat on as well.

Mom pulls up to the drive-thru at McDonald’s and lets the kind workers at the drive-thru window know it’s Fancy’s special day. The McDonald’s employees excitedly offer Fancy birthday greetings before delivering Fancy’s birthday meal through the window.

The Pug is so excited she starts growling at the very first sight of the iconic McDonald’s golden arches on the to-go box containing her birthday treats. It’s good to be the princess, especially when she’s a Pug.

Social media followers were all in on Fancy’s McDonald’s birthday party, with one writing, “birthday girl getting treated like the queen she is.” Another added, “Happy birthday gorgeous girl pug hugs and kisses enjoy your special day.”

One commenter or two wasn’t happy with mom’s choice to feed her pup McDonald’s. Unseasoned patties are actually safe for dogs, as is a whipped cream “pup cup,” but generally nuggets, fries, cheese, and other fatty foods should be avoided. Much as our dogs love the taste, salty, fatty foods can give our furry friends pancreatitis and some seriously unpleasant diarrhea.

Some puppies take their first beach trip and have no idea how to react. Not Miss Frankie the Golden Retriever. She went full beach potato mode immediately.

There's a cute TikTok set to Bob Marley's song, "Could You Be Loved," where Miss Frankie—an adorably chubby Golden Retriever puppy—arrives at the beach at sunset with her people. A few important things to know: saltwater's not healthyfor dogs to drink, so be sure to remember to bring fresh water. Hot sand can also hurt their little paws, so morning or later in the evening visits to the beach work better. And after every beach trip, rinse that thick coat with fresh water to prevent salt buildup and skin irritation.

The beach life chose Ms. Frankie and she’s not complaining.

What started as a heartbreaking scene ended in the kind of full-circle moment that restores your faith in humanity.

According to a Facebook post from the Auburn, Washington, Police Department, a police officer responded to a call of a German shepherd tied to a fence post—left out in the rain for more than 24 hours.

The dog, later named Zeus, was clearly in distress. Officer McNabb, the responder officer, stepped in to help, making sure Zeus was removed from the situation and given the care and attention he needed.

A Rescue That Turned Into Something More

After getting Zeus to safety, Officer McNabb didn’t just walk away.

As the pup recovered, it became clear he was a sweet, gentle dog who just needed the right environment to thrive. And somewhere along the way, a bond started to form.

So instead of sending Zeus off to a shelter or rescue, McNabb made a decision that changed both of their lives. He adopted him.

A Very Happy Update 

The department shared the heartwarming news in a Facebook post with a sweet message: “We’re happy to share that Zeus has found his forever home… with Officer McNabb, the very person who rescued him!”

The post included several photos of Zeus’s journey—from sitting in the back of McNabb’s patrol car after being rescued, to resting on a dog bed at the station, and finally settling into his new home. It also looks like Zeus has a new “brother”—a black Lab already part of McNabb’s family.

This outcome feels especially meaningful given where Zeus started. From being abandoned, tied up and left in the rain to now having a safe, warm home with someone who already proved they’d go out of their way to protect him.

Maine Coon kittens grow incredibly fast compared to most other cats, especially during their first year. In those early weeks, like at 3 weeks old, they are still small and dependent, but things change quickly.

Within just a few months, they start to gain size, strength, and personality at a pace that can feel a little shocking. Maine Coons are one of the largest domestic cat breeds, and they continue growing longer than most kitties, often not reaching full size until they are 3 to 5 years old.

That said, the most dramatic growth happens early on. One minute, they are tiny, sleepy babies tucked into a cuddle pile, and the next, they are long, fluffy, slightly chaotic teenagers taking up way more space than you expected.

Both of my dogs love their toys. My Dachshund and Pug mix will dig through any clutter to get to their puffy plushies and won't rest until they sink their teeth into a fluffy stuffy. While some dogs consider plush toys a security item to snuggle, my pooches view them as objects to hunt and retrieve.

In the TikTok from @maverickthegolden, the playful pooch rifled through his mountain of toys piled in the corner. Some were in a box while others were in a white woven basket. His mom was less than thrilled with Maverick plowing through the plushies.

"You know, I just cleaned all them and stacked that nice and neat," she told him, as he paid particular attention to the toys in the basket.

"Gosh forbid I actually use a basket for its intended use, which is to hold toys," she remarked as Maverick continued to dig out every item.

His mom tried several times to stop him, but Maverick was a man on a mission and wouldn't stop until he achieved his goal. The determined dog didn't seem to notice that toys were strewn about on the floor.

"I cleaned all day, Mav, you're ruining it," she said, but couldn't hold back a laugh.

Mission Accomplished by Maverick

The conscientious canine tore through all the toys and finally emptied the basket. While Maverick was pleased with the victory, he was also completely winded. The gorgeous Golden stared into the camera, panting after his hard work.

"You're overheating, and it's not because of a walk or anything," his mom pointed out. "It's because you're beating that basket up."

Maverick got into a cozy position on the rug and snuggled up to the basket, content with his accomplishment.

Followers were impressed by Maverick's tenacity, with some thinking he may have been looking for a specific toy or counting his collection.

"He said, I’m taking inventory lady," one remarked.

“Why would you put my favorite toy at the bottom of the stack?" another joked.

Puppies don’t stop being playful just because they’re tired or actually asleep. Dalmatians Have Really Playful Personalities

Dalmatians are really beautiful dogs, and watching this cute puppy have such a fun time is a pretty great look at what to expect if you add a Dalmatian to your family. 

According to the American Kennel Club, the Dalmatian is described as "dignified, outgoing, and smart," and as part of the non-sporting group, they're hard to generalize about in that regard since all breeds in this group are pretty unique. The club notes that the Dalmatian is at the top end of the affectionate with family scale, right into the "lovey-dovey," while landing in the middle of the spectrum for being good with children and other dogs. 

We're not sure what this cute little puppy is running with in his dream, but we bet he's going to have great stories to tell when he wakes up.

Isabel Klee is well-known in animal advocacy circles. Fostering over 30 dogs to date, Klee usually fosters canines with severe emotional or physical issues. Her current foster, a small and shaggy light brown dog named Marmie, is slowly letting her guard down after experiencing major trauma.

Marmie is particularly fearful of men, so Klee's fiancé, Jacob, had to take things very slowly when they were first introduced.

In the TikTok from @simonsits, Klee explained that Jacob and Marmie hadn't met yet and were about to have a face-to-face introduction.

"Jacob has been gone for a couple of days, and he's about to meet Marmie for the first time," she shared.

Jacob walked in the door, which prompted Marmie to bark. Her fur baby brother, Simon, greeted Jacob with cuddles and tail wags while Marmie continued to voice her distress. Klee called her over to help her calm down.

Jacob sat on the couch and offered his hand to Marmie. He was very patient and didn't make the first move. Marmie sat with Klee on the couch, where Jacob was able to give her a few gentle pets.

"You're so scared. I'm sorry," he told her.

Marmie Started Warming Up

Jacob let Marmie sniff his hand and gave her plenty of time to get used to his scent. "I'm nice — I promise," he said as he gave Marmie some affection and words of affirmation. "You're beautiful.

"She had a hard life," Klee told Jacob as Marmie kissed her nose.

The precious pooch was still wary of this "newcomer" as they continued interacting, but started to give him a chance. She even walked up to Jacob on the couch, gave him a sniff, and got cozy next to him. Then she gave the ultimate sign of trust by rolling on her side and allowing Jacob to give her a belly rub.

"I'm so honored," Jacob said.

It will take some time, but these two are obviously off to a promising start. Klee praised her fiancé for his gentleness and understanding.

Peppa, the Mini Jack Russell Terrier, might be the most energetic dog on TikTok, and her zoomies are legendary. Ok, maybe legendary is a little strong, but her account is known for its numerous videos documenting her epic – and epically hilarious hallway sprints. • active play (tug, games, off-leash time in a secure space)
• mental stimulation (training, problem-solving, anything that gives them a job)

Because they were bred to hunt and work all day, dogs like Peppa have serious stamina. Without enough vigorous exercise, that energy doesn’t just disappear—it usually turns into digging, barking, or general chaos at home.

When we decided to add another pup to our home, I found my soul dog, a Staffy named Franklin, who was so malnourished and defeated, he'd all but given up. In fact, shelter staff informed us that not one person asked about him or asked to see him, and it broke my heart. To this day (three-plus years later), my senior boy is thriving and happy, and he'll never be overlooked again.

It's tough to say how pets might react when someone new enters the home. Dogs, depending on the breed, may be friendly or protective of their family members. The Details

Back in 2015, the family had two dogs taken from their backyard in Philadelphia. While one was eventually found, Forty was nowhere to be seen.

Days of searching turned into weeks. Weeks turned into years. Eventually, life moved forward. The family relocated, but they never forgot about Forty.

But this is where the story gets truly incredible: just two months ago, Forty's original family updated his microchip information on a hunch, even after more than a decade had passed. That small decision ended up changing everything.

A Call They Never Expected

A senior stray was brought into a local shelter, ACCT Philly, where staff did what they always do—scanned for a microchip. And just like that, Forty's story took a turn.

Because his original family had just recently updated his microchip information, the shelter was able to contact them with the news they never thought they’d hear: Forty had been found.

“I thought it was a joke," the dog's mom, Jourdyn, said in an ABC7 interview, fighting back tears. "It’s just amazing, and I can’t believe after years that he was brought back to us."

A Bittersweet Reunion

Forty-Cal isn’t the same energetic pup he once was, but that only makes the reunion more meaningful.

“He’s very old, and he’s going to go home with us and just live his best life for the rest of the time that we have with him," Jourdyn said.

It’s the kind of ending that feels both joyful and a little bittersweet. They lost a lot of time with Forty and likely will never know where he’s been all these years. But all that matters now is that he’s back where he belongs and will spend the rest of his days safe, loved and surrounded by family.

Why Microchipping Matters

If there’s one takeaway from Forty’s story, it’s this: microchipping works.

A microchip is the most reliable way to reunite lost pets with their families, but it’s only effective if the information is kept up to date.

Moves, phone number changes and email updates can all impact whether a shelter can reach you if your pet is found.

In this case, keeping that information current made all the difference. More than 11 years later, it’s what brought Forty home at last.

Dogs getting zoomies is one of the best things ever. My Corgi, Tater, usually experiences her sudden bursts of frenetic energy when Dad's home, because he's the special chosen one. It's funny to watch her lap around the house until all of a sudden, she's done (until next time)!

Franklin is a 2-pound Chihuahua made from spice, sass, and a little engine that could as he zips and zooms around the living room. The very mention of the magic word, "Mom," is enough to crank him into second and third gear, and it's quite the sight!
