Blind and Deaf Mini Dachshund Wearing Girly Blue Bows Is Melting Hearts

Fri, 02/20/2026 - 9:20am

OK, this one got me a little. Her name is Wren, and she’s a tiny Mini Dachshund with pale blue bows clipped gently near her ears, playing with a stuffed lamb on a soft blanket like everything in the world is exactly as it should be. If you didn’t know anything else about her, you’d just think, wow, that is a very loved little dog having a cozy day.

But Wren is blind and partially deaf. She was born from a double dapple breeding, and according to her family, the breeder wanted to euthanize her. Instead, her family stepped in—and that’s when her real story started. I am so grateful they did, because look at her. Just... look at her. Oh, my heart.

@wrenspov

I have a feeling this is going to be a fun adventure #minidachshund #blinddog #deafdog #specialneedsdog #dogsoftiktok

♬ som original - 🐿

@wrenspov shared this TikTok clip, introducing Wren as their special little girl. In the video, she gently mouths her toy, rolls around, and occasionally pauses, like she’s listening for something only she can hear. The bows don’t feel like decoration so much as a quiet celebration. Like, here you are, sweetheart. You belong here.

Related: Mini Dachshund Puppy’s Perfectly Split Face Is Pure Puppy Magic

“Beautiful name for a beautiful little girl,” one person wrote.

Another said, “Thank you for saving this sweet girl.”

Someone else shared that they also have a deaf, partially blind Mini Dachshund and refused to return her when the breeder suggested it, adding, “Um, no!” which honestly deserves applause.

“My blind and part-deaf dog was a senior, but I loved him just as much as my others,” another commenter wrote, and that one hit deep in that soft place behind your ribs.

I keep thinking about how Wren has no idea she was ever considered disposable. She just knows she has toys, blankets, people, and those tiny blue bows that probably mean hands are coming to pet her. That’s her entire universe. And it’s a good one.

Meatball would absolutely try to steal her lamb toy and then act shocked when everyone got upset, because empathy is not his core strength. But even he has a soft spot for small creatures. I think he’d be gentle with her. Probably.

This May Inspire You To Adopt a Special-Needs Pet @wrenspov

So much joy #minidachshund #specialneedsdog #blinddog #rescuepuppy #minidachshundpuppy

♬ swatting at flies - ethan mcneal

If you’ve ever loved a special-needs pet, you know they don’t feel like a burden. They feel like a gift you didn’t know you needed. Wren doesn’t look broken or sad. She looks safe. She looks cherished. She looks exactly like a little dog who landed where she was meant to be.

And I hope her life is full of soft blankets, squeaky toys, and people who tell her she’s perfect every single day.

German Shepherd Cradles Tiny Kitten Just Like a Little Baby

Fri, 02/20/2026 - 9:00am

German Shepherds are total sweeties, but they're also a bit divisive. They're the kind of dog that everyone wants, but very few can actually handle. If you can do it, though, it's basically like hitting the jackpot.

One Australian man is doing it all. Not only does he have a German Shepherd, but he recently got a kitten! Lucky for him, the two of them are somehow the best of friends:

@mikeywest22551

lives her kitty

♬ original sound - Mikey

Mikey West is really brave. He's got a full house that includes:

  1. Two dogs.
  2. At least two cats.
  3. Three human boys.

It must just be that Australians are built differently. The German Shepherd, whose name isn't shared, has honestly done a great job of keeping her side of the street clean. She just wants to snuggle her kitten!

Related: German Shepherd’s ‘Speech’ Sounds Just Like Someone Cleaning a Window

How Their Bond Formed

Though the kitten is relatively new to their household, her new "mom" wasted no time taking her under her paw. According to their dad, she's had at least one litter of pups; she's motherly by nature.

She's also been around other animals her whole life, which helps, as does caring for her human siblings. She knows how to behave around tiny beings, and honestly, she excels at it:

I like that she's perfected the belly rub. I bet her kitten is demanding those belly rubs all the time!

German Shepherds and Cats

Raising a German Shepherd with cats can be really tough, to be honest. These dogs are herders at heart, and like most herding breeds, they have strong "chase" instincts. They're also huge and energetic, which can be off-putting to some cats.

If you want to get your German Shepherd a cat, you certainly could! It just takes time, patience, and:

  • Supervision to make sure they don't play too roughly.
  • Plenty of space for both to get away if/when needed.
  • Alone time with each to prevent jealousy.
  • Good training so your dog knows when to respect boundaries.

Luckily, this German Shepherd and her baby have all they need to succeed, and then some. How their dad stays sane, I do not know, but he's doing a great job!

Turkey Sprints to Greet His Favorite Human After 3 Days Apart and Then Puts on a Full Show

Fri, 02/20/2026 - 8:55am

It’s always nice to know you were missed by your pets while you were away. For some people, that welcome-home moment comes from a wagging tail or a purring cat. For Chrissy from @wannabefarmin, it comes in the form of a full-speed turkey sprint.

In a popular TikTok, Chrissy captures the moment she returns home after being away for three days. “Here comes my turkey running to me after a trip, I’ve been away,” she says as the camera pans across a grassy yard dotted with chickens.

Some people are excited to see their dogs and cats when they get home, others…their turkeys 🥹 🦃 ❤️ #farmlife #pets #fyp #turkey #adorable

And sure enough, through the flock, a turkey named Tim comes barreling toward her. His little legs kick out to the side as he sprints across the grass with surprising speed and determination.

“Tim! Tim, I missed you! My baby, I missed you so much,” Chrissy calls out as he closes the distance. By the time he reaches her, Tim is standing proudly in front of the camera—and then comes the grand finale.

Chrissy asks, “Did you miss me?” and as if answering her question, Tim suddenly puffs up his feathers and his throat (called a wattle) turns a vivid red. It’s a classic turkey display move, and he seems to be putting on the performance exclusively for her.

“Are you going to show off for me?” Chrissy asks. “That’s so nice, beautiful. OK, I come give you hug.”

The video ends with Chrissy stepping into frame to cuddle and kiss Tim, who appears completely content soaking up the attention.

What Viewers Are Saying

Viewers were equally smitten.

“Awwwwww He made himself SO HANDSOME for you 🫶🏾❤️,” one viewer wrote in the video’s comment section.

“I was today years old when I learned that a turkey’s neck can change color,” another admitted.

One viewer perfectly summed up the collective meltdown in the comments: “No no no, I can’t 😫 his run, his proud feathers, ‘my babbyy.’”

Yes, Turkeys Can Bond With Humans

While many people think of turkeys only in farmyard terms, they’re actually highly social and capable of forming strong attachments, especially when raised around humans.

Domestic turkeys can learn to recognize familiar faces, trail after their favorite people and even lean into physical affection. That dramatic feather puff and color change Tim showed off? It’s a classic display, often used to signal excitement or to impress. In this context, it felt very much like, “You’re back! Time to look my best.”

Three days apart might not seem like much to us, but judging by Tim’s sprint and full-body glow-up, it clearly felt like forever to him.

Adorably 'Squishy' Spaniel Mix Poses 'Like a Cover Girl Model' in Hopes of Being Adopted

Fri, 02/20/2026 - 8:46am

Some dogs have a talent for tugging your heartstrings with one look. Chowder, a 15-pound, 3-year-old Spaniel Mix, apparently woke up and chose model—because his latest headshot is giving full “cover girl” energy, and he knows it.

In the Instagram post, the shelter introduces him with the kind of caption that reads like a casting call for the world’s cutest photo shoot: “Chowder here posing like a cover girl model with this perfect head shot 📸 At just 15 lbs., this squishy 3-year-old spaniel mix has so much love to give and is a total doll. He’d love a more quiet home where his silly side can shine through. Stop in any day to meet our charming guy, Chowder ❤️”

View this post on Instagram

And honestly? Accurate. Chowder’s face is the kind of face that makes you pause mid-scroll like, “Wait. Who is this tiny celebrity?” He looks soft. He looks polite. He looks like he’s never done anything wrong in his entire life… even if we all know that’s probably not true (because the sweetest-looking dogs are often the ones with the most mischievous side).

The best part is the way the post hints at his personality beyond the photo. Chowder isn’t just cute—he’s the kind of dog who’d thrive in a calmer home, where he can settle in, feel safe, and let his goofy side come out at his own pace. That’s not a drawback; it’s a love language. Some dogs aren’t meant for constant noise and chaos. Some dogs are meant for cozy routines, gentle voices, and a person who gets excited about quiet mornings and goofy little zoomies that happen in short bursts.

The commenters clearly agree that Chowder has star power. One person wrote, “Such a cutie… giving Falkor vibes!!” And now you can’t unsee it—he really does have that sweet, mythical, fluffy-wisdom look, like he’s about to take you on an adventure but also nap immediately afterward.

Related: Cocker Spaniel Puppy Sits Just Like a Tiny Human and We Can't Get Enough

I’m extra soft for adoption posts like this because my dog Lola is from a rescue too, and it’s wild how quickly a dog can go from “waiting to be chosen” to “center of your entire universe.” The right match doesn’t just change a dog’s life—it changes yours.

So if you’ve been thinking about adopting, consider this your sign from a squishy little spaniel mix with a headshot worthy of a magazine cover.

The Right Home Makes the 'Silly Side' Shine

Chowder’s photo is adorable, but the real magic is what the caption tells us: he’s looking for a quieter home where he can feel secure enough to be his full, goofy self. That’s what adoption is really about—finding the environment where a dog can thrive, not just “fit.” If you’re exploring adoption (or want to make sure you’re ready), this ASPCA guide is a solid starting point.

Expressive Golden Retriever Trying To Look Fierce Is Actually Too Adorable

Fri, 02/20/2026 - 8:20am

Dogs don't need to tell us how they're feeling because they're more than capable of expressing emotions through tail wagging, excited panting, and other body language moves for us to decipher. Some have even figured out exactly how to change their expression, so whatever they're thinking is a little clearer.

Gamja, the Golden Retriever, has mastered the art of showing feelings through her funny expressions, and though she's trying to look intimidating, she's just a sweetheart we can't help but root for.

@gamjamypotato

She’s just overly expressive okay? 😂 #dogs#funny#goldenretriever

♬ original sound - mchowdhury_

If anyone is looking for a doggy actress to play a villain, Gamja's your girl. The video montage shared by @gamjamypotato shows all the ways this sassy and expressive Golden Retriever goes from happy and smiling to baring teeth in the cutest way, and it's par for the course with this playful pup!

Related: Golden Retriever's '7 Stages' of Missing Dad Couldn't Be Cuter

Fans of Gamja, "the snarly girl," agree that she wouldn't hurt a fly, making her dramatic faces way too adorable, with one writing, "They want to look fierce, and they just look cuter!"

Showing off her pearly whites is a regular occurrence for Gamja, especially when it comes to her dog brother, Chip. She puts up with his shenanigans up to a point, which can be a lot some days. In a previous clip, the Golden siblings show off one of the sweetest training tricks they've learned—and Gamja keeps her fierce-looking teeth to herself!

@gamjamypotato

I swear they understand everything😂😂 #dogs#funny#valentines

♬ original sound - Gamja🥔 and Chip Expressive Dogs Show Their Teeth for Many Reasons

At first glance, you might think Gamja is gearing up to rumble with whoever is at the receiving end of her toothy smile, but her parents know her well enough to differentiate between fear, anger, joy, or just plain annoyance. As VCA Animal Hospitals explains, not all dog facial expressions like hers mean trouble's ahead.

When a dog bares their teeth, it might look like a smile, which is submissive and accompanied by other relaxed, wiggly body language to show they're happy and not to be feared. If their backs are stiff and ears are back while flashing teeth, that signals aggression.

Dogs are also capable of picking up emotions from us and learning how to mirror some of our expressions. Who knows if Gamja noticed her parents grimacing at some point, or if she's just annoyed by her little brother, but she sure is a cutie!

Handsome Ragdoll Cat Masters ‘Twinkle Eyes’ and Everyone Is Charmed

Fri, 02/20/2026 - 8:00am

Ragdoll cats have the most incredible eyes in the world. I don't make the rules; a Ragdoll cat's eyes are like nothing else in the world. They're just so breathtaking, every single time!

One very handsome Ragdoll cat has officially learned how to use his eyes to his advantage. In this video, he walks up to his mom, and I swear, he makes them twinkle like stars in the night sky:

@florenceandmargo

Florence and Margo are both beautiful Ragdolls, but the one in this clip is Florence. He's a year old, so he's still just a kitten! With skills like these, his mom has a lot of years of being manipulated by her furry friends left to go!

Florence is the master of the two. Margo is older, though she mostly only likes Florence when there's free stuff involved. Florence is the charm offensive, getting mom's guard down so they don't get in trouble for whatever they're about to do.

Cats Love Siblings

Though not a requirement, people often find that cats do a little better in pairs or more than by themselves. As a result, when someone says they're only getting one cat, I'm never surprised when they end up with a second shortly after.

When cats have siblings, they love to:

  • Team up for pets from their humans.
  • Get into little fights over toys.
  • Sit on the counter together and plot about opening the treat jar.

Florence and his sister check all of the boxes, clearly:

♬ This Is The Life Demo Hannah Montana - out of context hannah montana Do Ragdolls All Have Blue Eyes?

Florence is about as classic a Ragdoll as you can get. This boy looks like you pulled him out of a cat show catalog. From the points to the big blue eyes, he's got it all.

Ragdolls, by breed standards, all have blue eyes. These "traditional" Ragdolls are what are considered purebreds. If your Ragdoll doesn't have blue eyes, though, it could be:

  • A solid Ragdoll (gold/green eyes).
  • A Mink Ragdoll (green/aqua eyes).
  • A Sepia Ragdoll (gold/green/aqua eyes).

Whether these breeds are technically actual Ragdolls or not has been the subject of a lot of debate in the cat community; Mink Ragdolls, for example, have recently been reclassified under the Cherubim breed.

There's no doubting Florence, though. That is the Ragdoll-est Ragdoll I have ever seen!

Toy Poodle Goes From Wet 'Goblin' to 'Cute Teddy Bear' in Post-Bath Glow-Up

Fri, 02/20/2026 - 7:10am

My Dachshund and my Pug mix both have short-haired coats, so their hairstyle looks the same year-round. They don't require haircuts or professional grooming, and you can't see much of a difference in their appearance even when soaking wet.

Hugo the Toy Poodle boasts his breed's trademark fluffy coat and looks like a different dog after drying off from a soak in the tub.

@hugotoypoodle

In the TikTok from @hugotoypoodle, the precious pooch had his front paws placed on the tub and stood upright. Toby was soaked to the skin with his fur plastered to his little body. His big brown eyes took up most of his adorable face, and the dark ringlets that clung to his body revealed a very lean physique.

His dampened demeanor didn't last for long. Once Hugo was out of the tub and fully dry, he transformed. Those soggy curls sprang to life in full floofiness all over his body, giving him an adorable billowy cloud-like look. The poof of fur on his head rose to a sort of pompadour, making him appear taller.

The primped Poodle had a towel draped around him like a cape, adding to his proud presence. Hugo resembled a stuffed animal with all that poofy, fluffy fur.

"From bathtub goblin to the cutest little teddy bear," the caption accurately shared.

Toy Poodles Are Considered Hypoallergenic

Since Poodles shed very little, their coats emit fewer allergens in the air and are an ideal option for people with allergy sensitivities. Their iconic fluffy coats require regular grooming, brushing, and trimming to keep their fur healthy and unmatted. Occasional appointments with a professional groomer help to maintain their coat's lush curls.

This adorable breed comes in a variety of colors, including apricot, black, white, gray, silver, and more. Poodles can also have a patterned coat, such as parti (two-color), phantom (dark body with lighter 'points'), and abstract.

These canine cuties are very social, affectionate, and intelligent. They need regular exercise for optimum health and mental stimulation. Poodles make wonderful pets for families and people of all ages.

Also, Poodles look very different during a bath.

Golden Retriever ‘Discovers New Skill’ for His Toddler Sibling and It’s Perfect

Fri, 02/20/2026 - 7:00am

Golden Retrievers are everybody's dream dog at one point, I swear. Before I got a third Boston Terrier a few years ago, I was dead-set on a Golden... Ultimately, though, I went with another Boston because I just adore them.

I'll get my Golden Retriever one day, but for right now, I live vicariously through everyone who has one. Just look at this one, who learned an entire new skill for his little sibling. To say his mom is impressed is an understatement:

Chelsea Brown has one of the cutest little families I have ever seen in my life. Her family consists of two little besties: Finn and her daughter. Technically, the child came first, but Finn is still her big brother because:

  • He's bigger than her.
  • She needs his help pulling things off sometimes.
  • He has tons of skills she doesn't yet.

Finn has recently learned how to make her swing move, which is a big deal for her. It's not exactly pushing, but it's perfect!

Why a Golden Retriever?

Chelsea and her family knew they wanted to raise their baby with a dog. A lot of people feel that way, and it's no surprise that a Golden was one of their top choices. Golden Retrievers are:

  • Playful
  • Easy-going
  • Fun to watch
  • Loyal
  • Easy to train

With a properly trained Golden Retriever, family life is a breeze. Finn definitely fits:

If you see Finn and you just can't imagine raising your family with any other kind of dog, I get you. They're amazing, but they're prone to developing bad habits. Kids are basically bad habit machines.

There are a few things you'll want to ensure:

  1. The child is being kind to the dog (no hitting, biting, yanking, etc.).
  2. They're not dropping their food on the floor for the dog to pick up.
  3. If they love dropping their food for the dog, make sure they eat non-dog-safe foods under your direct supervision.
  4. Both the child and the dog have private spaces to get away from each other.

Luckily, Finn and his sister have everything they need. Their parents are awesome!

8 Signs Your Dog Can’t Stop Loving You

Fri, 02/20/2026 - 6:10am

Is your pup following you everywhere, sneaking onto your lap when you're on the couch, or giving you those heart-melting puppy eyes? These are just a few signs your dog is attached to you! Understanding these dog behavior cues can help you strengthen your dog-human bond, build trust, and notice how your furry friend shows love and emotional connection. However, because dogs communicate differently than people do, sometimes pet owners can misread a dog's signs of affection. After all, a dog's body language and behaviors can be tricky to decode. That's why we rounded up 8 signs your dog is attached to you, according to a trainer.

"Dogs are social creatures and wired to bond. Your dog doesn’t bond to you because they have to," explains Bridget Murphy, the co-founder and CEO of KoruK9.com and LunaDogAI.com. "They bond to you because you’ve become their safe place and their safe person. There’s something deeply grounding about having a dog look at you like you’re their person. "It's built on a two-way street of mutual love and caring that we may crave in our human relationships as you show up for them, and they show up for you. With all the chaos and complexity in the world, there is nothing like a dog’s love. That kind of loyalty is powerful."

If you're curious if your dog is attached to you and want to know how dogs show they have a strong connection with you, read on and get ready to embrace the power and all the warmth and fuzzies that come with it. Before you know it, you'll see all the ways dogs show they care, no matter if they are total Velcro dogs or not.

Spotting the signs your dog is attached to you is a heartwarming way to strengthen your dog-human bond and better understand your furry friend’s emotional needs. These subtle dog behavior cues and adorable gestures are all part of how dogs communicate their true feelings. Scroll on for Murphy’s top indicators that your dog is deeply bonded to you!

1. They follow you

Dogs can communicate in all kinds of ways. If you've ever wondered why your dog is following you around, it's an adorable sign your dog is attached to you. It's like they are saying, "Where you go, I go."

"If your dog follows you from room to room, that’s attachment," Murphy says. "They want to be where you are." Still, Murphy stresses that you want the dog to be able to be by themselves calmly and comfortably as well. "Healthy attachment still includes independence," Murphy says. "A balanced dog can follow you and also settle on their own."

2. They give you a tail-wagging welcome

This is a classic sign of doggie love and can even evolve into a full-body wiggle. "That loose, full-body tail wag when you come home isn’t about excitement alone," Murphy states. "It’s recognition. You’re back. Their person is back, and all is right in the world again."

3. They sigh near you

How dogs show attachment to people varies. Some sweet signs that your dog likes being around you are easy to miss, like when a dog sighs. So, what does it mean when your dog sighs? A deep sigh from a dog isn't necessarily a sign that they're stressed or frustrated. It could be a sign of even deeper love and devotion. "Dogs don’t sigh and soften in environments where they’re tense," Murphy says. "If they’re doing that next to you, that’s trust."

Put yourself in your pup's paws for a second. "Imagine that feeling of being next to the person you trust the most in the world," Murphy shares. "You simply feel like you can relax and just be. That’s how your dog feels, too." That's why this adorable dog behavior means your dog loves you and is a sign a dog is bonded with their human.

Related: 9 Ways Dogs Show You Matter to Them & They Love You, According to Trainers

4. They let you give them belly rubs

When it comes to signs a dog is bonded with their human, belly rubs are one. Don't take this as a sign that your dog loves you for granted. Though pet parents often think that dogs always love belly rubs, it's not a given. In fact, some pets can be very discerning about who they let touch their tummy.

"A dog exposing their belly is a vulnerable position to be in," Murphy notes. "Their stomach is one of the most sensitive areas on their body. If your dog willingly rolls over and stays relaxed while you rub their belly, they trust you enough to expose their most vulnerable spot on their body."

Only a dog who feels safe and secure with you will show this level of vulnerability, making it one of the most obvious dog body language signals that your pet is deeply attached to you. So sweet!

5. They get excited when you grab the leash

Another sign your dog trusts you can be witness while you're walking your pup and they grab their leash. Loyal dogs are generally willing and excited to walk this way or any which way, as long as it's with you. "You are the gateway to adventure," Murphy shares. "Walks mean movement, stimulation and engagement. The best part is that they associate that experience with you. The excitement isn’t just about the leash. It’s about doing something together."

Murphy encourages people to embrace this funny dog behavior. "You should work to build engagement with your dog," she advises. "It’s the best way to improve your training and relationship."

6. They sit in your lap, regardless of their size

Some dog affection signs can be signs a dog is attached to you as well. "Raise your hand if your 70-pound dog tries to sit in your lap?" Murphy asks. "It might not be the most comfortable position for you, but physical proximity can be hugely reinforcing for some dogs. It means they feel secure pressed against you." Therefore, if your big dog or little dog consistently chooses to sit on you, it’s a clear sign of attachment and a sign of dog affection.

Quick (but important) note: "Not all dogs like cuddling or being physically close," Murphy says. "If your dog doesn’t like sitting in your lap, don’t be offended."

7. They listen to you even in busy environments

Murphy calls this dog behavior a "big one," which is why it's one of the clearest signs your dog is attached to you. You see, whether you're in a busy dog park or a backyard full of activity, an attached dog who listens and demonstrates trust.

"If your dog chooses to respond to you when there are distractions, that’s more than obedience and engagement," Murphy says. "That is a huge amount of trust. Kudos to you for working with your dog to get them to that point. Attachment means you matter more than the environment. You’re the reference point."

8. They check in with you in new situations

Dogs can feel unsure in situations that they've never been in before, and who can't blame them? Having you nearby gives them a sense of safety and security. That's why dog attachment signs can include them checking in on you.

"If your dog looks at you in unfamiliar environments, that’s a dog that is secure and knows you have their back," Murphy reports. "They are looking at you, essentially asking, 'Are we good?' That eye contact is a connection and a sign of trust. It’s a sign they see you as their advocate."

Overall, paying attention to this dog body language signal is a key dog behavior cue showing they care about you.

Olympian Narrowly Dodges Squirrel in Viral Downhill Run

Fri, 02/20/2026 - 5:50am

The Olympics bring together the best of the best in the world of sport. Often, competing athletes spend years training to have a chance to qualify for the Olympic Games. Which, of course, leads to more training and practice to hopefully win one of three medals for their home country.

Despite training to handle obstacles thrown their way, there are some things even the most prepared Olympian can't account for. One of which is an unexpected animal joining them on the course, something that seems to happen quite often at the winter Olympics.

Unexpected Animal During the Slalom View this post on Instagram

The 2026 Olympics have seen their fair share of animals on the courses, but nothing quite compares to the 2018 Olympics when a squirrel decided to play chicken during the downhill parallel giant slalom race.

The throwback clip from the PyeongChang 2018 games quickly went viral on the Olympics' official Instagram page. It shows Daniela Ulbing from Australia hurtling through the run, hitting every twist and turn with ease. The squirrel flies out from the right side of the course right into Ulbing's path.

The animal decides it made a bad decision right as Ulbing rounds the corner, but there really wasn't anywhere for it to go. To make matters worse, Ulbing was almost to the finish line, and it would have been heartbreaking for the Olympian to fall so close to the end.

Luckily for Ulbing and the squirrel, shes pretty amazing at her craft. While up on the edge of her board, she wiggles out slightly towards the center of the lane, missing the squirrel and finishing her run.

Ulbing staying upright and not annihilating the squirrel were both impressive feats, but it gets even more amazing. She actually won that run and advanced to the quarterfinals. Sadly, she did not take home gold. Though she clearly proved she has high-level skills and a golden heart.

How Often do Animals End up on the Playing Field?

Since many of the events are held outdoors, it makes sense that wildlife would show up from time to time. However, there really isn't an exact count of how many times an animal has popped up during an event, and most of the time their jaunts onto the course, field, or ski run aren't as widely publicized as the wolfdog's and the squirrel's were.

Except for the adorable capybaras, who decided to call the golf course at the Rio Games their home. I mean, who can resist all that luscious golf course grass? While the capys are adorable intrusions into the games, some less friendly animals often strolled onto the course.

At the start of the 2026 Summer Olympics, there were three-toed sloths, ground-nesting owls, monkeys, caimans, and boa constrictors who all wanted to see what the fuss was all about. Of course, officials addressed all of the animals to reduce issues during the golf matches, but as many commenters on the squirrel have pointed out, we are holding these events in the animals' homes, so we should expect some interaction.

Maine Coons are giants in the cat world. These cats can grow up to 16 inches tall and weigh up to 25 pounds, making them a sizable pet. In fact, the Maine Coon is one of the closest cats you can get to a dog, in size and personality.

Besides being known for their striking size, they are known for their luxurious fur, which results in their big, fluffy coats. Once you see one, you'll understand why Maine Coons rank among the fluffiest cat breeds you can own, with a thick coat that comes in a variety of colors and patterns.

“They’re also athletic cats,” explains Abel Gonzalez, DVM, clinical director and veterinarian at Dutch, adding that they are a standout choice for families looking for a gentle, affectionate companion. "They are not clingy though,” according to Aimee Warner, DVM, resident veterinarian at Waggel. However, she shares they do tend to love family time and will often hang out in the same area as you, just to see what’s happening.

Breed Stats
  • Personality: Gentle, friendly, affectionate
  • Weight: 12-22 pounds
  • Lifespan: 12.5+ years

If you're looking for cats with long fur, you'll love Birman cats! They have fluffiness for days, with a gorgeous coat that’s usually pale with darker extremities. "This adorable breed is known for a slew of qualities that make it a good option to consider if you’re a first-time cat owner," according to Gonzalez.

Birmans are easy to take care of, with a sweet nature. "They’re also gentle, laidback, friendly and affectionate," according to Hilary Humm-Beatty, DVM, veterinarian consultant at Embrace Pet Insurance. "Plus, Birmans get along well with everyone in the family, including kids and other pets. However, just be aware that they need regular grooming even though their medium coat mats less than most longhair cats."

Breed Stats
  • Personality: Gentle, affectionate, easy to handle
  • Weight: 12 pounds
  • Lifespan: 9-15+ years

When it comes to popular long-haired cats, this is one of them as this feline has a cloud-like coat, earning a spot among the fluffiest cat breeds. Though, our experts say they have cute personalities as well. "Ragdolls earn their name from their quirky trait of going limp when you hold them," Warner points out. However, that doesn't mean they don't like affection. "They do generally like to be carried and cuddled," according to Gonzalez.

Overall, Ragdolls are friendly and social, enjoying spending time around their humans. While their luxurious coat does require attention, this long-haired cat is considered low maintenance compared to other fluffy breeds. Still, Gonzalez says they require “low maintenance grooming with regular brushing.”

  • Personality: Affectionate, relaxed, happy
  • Weight: 12-18 pounds
  • Lifespan: 15+ years

Persian A stunning long-haired cat.

You want fluffiness? You’ve got it with the Persian, which is a sweet indoor fluffy cat that looks like a walking puffball. They are not only pretty cats, but they are one of the oldest and most iconic long-haired cat breeds, as the Persian traces its lineage back to ancient Persia

"Persians are a quiet breed, and they also tend to be calm," according to Liza Cahn, DVM, a veterinarian at Embrace Pet Insurance. They’re also smart, with a high level of social intelligence and trainability. In fact, this fluffy cat breed can even be trained to walk on a leash like a dog. But for all their perks and fluffiness, Cahn says this is a “high-maintenance cat breed” thanks to them being brachycephalic (flat-faced), which predisposes them to respiratory, dental and eye issues. Still, for families willing to commit to coat care and health monitoring, the Persian is a lovable, regal, and incredibly fluffy cat breed.

Breed Stats
  • Personality: Gentle, quiet, easy-going
  • Weight: Varies
  • Lifespan: 8-11 years

The Siberian is another fluffy cat breed with ancient roots, dating back as far as 1,000 AD. As one of the most popular long-haired cat breeds, the Siberian is known for its intelligence, playful personality, and strong bond with its family. Because this fluffy house cat is highly active and curious, plenty of interactive cat toys and enrichment are essential to prevent boredom and mischief.

Their thick triple coat adapts to the seasons—growing full and dense in winter, then shedding into a lighter, shorter coat in summer. However, despite their luxurious fur, they are often considered one of the more hypoallergenic cat breeds. How? They produce lower levels of the Fel d 1 protein, the primary allergen responsible for most cat allergies, making them a potential option for allergy-sensitive households.

Breed Stats
  • Personality: Playful, smart
  • Weight: 6-12+ pounds
  • Lifespan: 11–18 years
Norwegian Forest Cat A beautiful gray and white furry cat.

The Norwegian Forest Cat is one of the fluffiest cat breeds, known for its thick double coat and large, sturdy build. This long-haired cat breed has a dense undercoat and water-resistant outer layer that makes it look even bigger than it is. Their luxurious fur comes in a wide range of colors and patterns, which is why they are a standout choice for anyone searching for a big fluffy cat with a soft, full coat.

While not always a classic lap cat, the Norwegian Forest Cat is gentle, loyal, and family-friendly. They prefer to stay close to their humans but tend to be independent and self-directed. Because of their heavy coat, grooming needs are moderate to high, especially during spring and fall shedding seasons. Regular brushing helps manage shedding levels, prevent matting, and keep this beautiful long-haired cat looking its best.

Popular Cat Food Brand Recalled Nationwide Over Serious Health Risk—Here's What to Know

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 10:50pm

Freeze-dried food and treats have become a popular feeding option for both cats and dogs. The food provides a better delivery system for nutrients to your pets without the downsides of raw food, which can pose a Salmonella risk.

However, freeze-dried foods are not exempt from recalls. One popular cat food brand recently issued a voluntary recall for their freeze-dried chicken cat nuggets. It wasn't for bacterial contamination, though. This recall was due to a possible vitamin deficiency.

Stop Using This Freeze-Dried Kibble Immediately

View the complete details on this recall at: https://t.co/E5Zy1sSKuI pic.twitter.com/pSb6bD7qW0

— U.S. FDA Recalls (@FDArecalls) February 18, 2026

If your cat is eating the Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe, you need to check your pantry. The voluntary recall affects one specific lot: C25288 with the UPC: 6-91730-18103-1 and a Best Buy Date of 10/15/2027. The zip-lock bags were sold in Colorado, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Michigan, California, Texas, and Illinois. The affected batch may have low thiamine levels, also known as Vitamin B1.

The recall of the freeze-dried nuggets was triggered after a cat owner reported illness in their cat. Thankfully, a veterinarian treated the cat, and it has recovered. So far, it is the only cat to have experienced adverse effects from the product.

The product was tested by the veterinarian who treated the ill cat, and the test indicated that the lot did not meet the required thiamine levels to support a cat's diet. Quest conducted further testing to verify that the lot may have low thiamine levels. Quest's parent company, Go Raw LLC, has already taken measures to ensure that this doesn't happen again.

Why Thiamine is Important

Thiamine is considered an essential nutrient for cats. According to a 2017 study, the water-soluble vitamin helps animals process carbohydrates, synthesize nucleotides, and maintain normal nervous system function. Since they can't produce the vitamin on their own, they need to consume at least 0.33 to 0.35 milligrams per day to maintain healthy levels.

While deficiencies can be reversed if caught early enough, they can lead to severe medical issues. According to the FDA's press release, cats' nervous systems and stomachs can be affected. "Early signs of thiamine deficiency may include decreased appetite, salivation, vomiting, failure to grow, and weight loss," the release said. "In advanced cases, neurological signs may develop, including ventroflexion (bending towards the floor) of the neck, mental dullness, vision changes, wobbly walking, circling, falling, and seizures."

If not treated in time, cats can also become so ill that they die from their symptoms. Go Raw LLC has said that consumers should immediately stop using the product and return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. If you have any questions, you can email the company at cs@gorawllc.com or call them at (801) 432 -7478, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, MST.

Golden Retriever With Hours to Live Treated to Final Steak Dinner By Kind Restaurant Owner

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 9:40pm

On the day Emmy the Golden Retriever's family found out that she only had four hours left to live, they knew exactly how they wanted to spend those last previous hours with their beloved Emmy.

Kelly Blumenthal adopted Emmy as a puppy seven years ago. "A little fluff ball," she remembers. Emmy grew into exactly what you'd imagine when you think Golden Retriever—absolutely loving, loyal, and extremely maternal. The kind of dog who organically becomes part of your family so seamlessly that you barely even notice it happening.; wiggling and wagging their way into your heart.

Then came the routine vet visit in August that flipped their world. A lump had formed in what seemed almost overnight. Devastatingly, the tests revealed Emmy had blood cancer.

"We were just completely devastated," Kelly said. "But at the same time we looked at Emmy and we said, she is so blessed that she has no idea what's going on. She's young and she can go do things. Let's make these last few months the best of her entire life."

The months flew by, filled with love and snuggles. Then January 22nd arrived. Emmy's health took a turn for the worst. In a last ditch effort to spend just a little more time with Emmy, the vet gave her a four-hour blood transfusion to give her enough energy to make it through her final hours.

The family had one request: a last meal together at Perry's Steakhouse in Short Pump, Virginia.

Kelly reached out to the restaurant to ask how early they opened and what options could they offer to accommodate Emmy's last meal? What happened next is the kind of thing that restores your faith in people.

Restaurant Staff Gave Dying Golden Retriever VIP Treatment for Her Final Meal

Kindly and compassionately, Perry's rolled out the red carpet for Emmy and her family. Manager, Jesus Martinez, a dog dad himself, made sure that Emmy's final hours would be special and she'd be as happy as possible. He was determined to make her last meal be the best it could be for Emmy and her family.

"Myself, being a dog owner, I wanted to ensure that this memory would be lasting for Emmy and the family as well," he said.

They gave Emmy her own sparkling water, which she was able to drink, a bone with marrow in it and steak.

On that last day, Emmy had practically no energy left to eat, but her family was determined that a perfectly cooked steak would be the last thing she tasted. They lovingly placed small pieces under her gums and tongue so that she could enjoy the flavor of her final meal. This simple gesture done with such love and compassion will surely be something Emmy's family cherishes for years to come.

"She was just exactly how you would picture a typical Golden Retriever. Just absolutely loving, loyal and extremely maternal," Kelly said.

Emmy passed away peacefully at home with her family that night. But Kelly says the kindness from Perry's staff meant everything to her in such a dark moment of her life.

"She had happy memories. She not once that day felt fear. She not once felt sadness," Kelly explained.

As thanks, Kelly gifted the restaurant a print of Emmy's paw.

"Definitely brought some tears for everybody in the building," Martinez said. "Definitely a meaningful day for the family and for the Perry's family as well."

Sometimes in our worst moments, strangers show up, show us kindness without motive, and remind us that compassion still exists. Emmy spent her final hours surrounded by so much love—from her family and from people who'd never met her before but understood that every dog deserves dignity at the end.

"We all feel this sense of community that this dog is bringing people together," someone said about Emmy's story.

Seven years wasn't long enough. It never is. But Emmy's last day was filled with steak, sparkling water, and love from every direction.

Ball-Obsessed Border Collie’s 'Crazy Eyes' Make Fetch Feel Hilariously Unsettling

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 8:55pm

If you have ever known a Border Collie, you already know they don’t just like toys. They enter into deep, emotional love affairs with them. Leo, the Border Collie, who you're about to meet, has clearly decided he feels this way about a ball.

In the clip, Leo stares at a ball on the bed with the intensity of someone defusing a bomb. Then he looks at his mom. Then back at the ball. Then back to his mom with eyes so wide it feels like he’s trying to telepathically launch the object across the room. It is exactly the look I give someone at lunch when they have a pickle next to their sandwich, and I need to know if they are, you know, gonna eat that pickle.

@leoandlexy

The way he side eyes me to throw his ball is crazy (it works every time)

♬ Yacht Club - MusicBox

TikToker @leoandlexy captioned the moment, “POV: You’re just trying to relax before bed, and your dog is BALL OBSESSED,” which sounds mild until you see Leo’s pupils doing Olympic-level dilation.

“He’s like, ‘You see the way this ball is still? Unacceptable,’” one person wrote.

Related: Darling Dachshund Asks To Play Ball in the Cutest Hide-and-Seek Way

Another pointed out, “His pupils are dilating when he looks at the ball,” which is frankly concerning in a hilarious way.

Someone else said, “I fear it’s on you for getting a Border Collie,” which… fair.

“The constant checking to make sure the ball is still there,” one viewer noted, capturing the thousand-yard stare vibe perfectly.

And perhaps the most accurate comment of all: “The lights are on, but I assure you, nobody is home except ball.”

Kingston, my Pomeranian, could not relate less. He has a tiny tennis ball that he will fetch exactly three times before deciding he has done enough playing for one lifetime. After that, he would prefer snacks, compliments, and emotional support sitting.

Are Some Dog Breeds More Obsessed With Balls Than Others? @funny.animals532

Dog’s endless ball obsession 🤣#dog #funny #dogsoftiktok #funnyvideos #fyp

♬ original sound - Funny Animals

Yes. Breeds developed for herding or having jobs, like Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, and Belgian Malinois, often show intense fixation on moving objects. Balls mimic the motion that these pups were bred to track and control, which can trigger that laser focus.

Companion breeds, on the other hand, may enjoy fetch but typically don't treat it like a full-time job.

Why Fetch Is So Good for Dogs Dog Playing Fetch.

I

Fetch provides both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Chasing, retrieving, and returning the ball or toy engages muscles, coordination, and problem-solving skills. It can also strengthen the bond between dog and human, since the game relies on cooperation and communication.

For high-energy breeds especially, regular fetch sessions can help prevent boredom-related behaviors, like chewing on your shoes.

Some Dogs Take Their Ball Obsession Too Far @sandydoodleandme

he genuinely wants to play fetch from 7:30 in the morning until he goes to sleep!? anyone else have this problem??? Send help 🙃🙃🙃 #fetch #dogobsessed #doodle #fyp

♬ original sound - 80s throwback hits

While loving fetch is normal, constant fixation on a toy to the point of ignoring food, sleep, or normal activities can signal that your dog is overstimulated or anxious. Some pups struggle to “turn off” once they get into play mode.

If your dog seems unable to relax, is pacing, whining, or demanding play nonstop, it may be worth discussing with your veterinarian or a trainer. Structured playtimes, puzzle toys, and enforced rest periods can help create a healthier balance.

Because as funny as Leo’s stare is, nobody wants to live with a furry, ball-obsessed personal trainer who never clocks out.

Giant Schnauzer Is So Huge, He Basically Towers Over Mom

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 7:55pm

If you close your eyes and think of what you consider to be a "big" dog, what comes to mind? It's easy to imagine cute little pups, like Chihuahuas or Teacup Poodles. But what about the breeds with the word "giant" right in their name?

Cairo, a Giant Schnauzer, is about to test that theory. This humongous boy rivals Jacob in Twilight when he becomes the enormous wolf. Seriously—you have to take a look at this dog!

@allahbia

My little human stuck in a Giant Schnauzer body🥹🤍 #giantschnauzer #schnauzer #dog #dogmom

See what I mean? The video shows the tall pooch with his paws on Mom's shoulders, where he's at eye level. Mom replied in the post's comments that two things can be true: that she's small at 5'2", and this boy is actually gargantuan!

Even Mom @allahbia describes the Schnauzer as a "little human" stuck in a dog's body, and I can't argue with that. The post has thousands of fans swarming the comments section to share their thoughts, and some of them are hilarious.

"Girl, that's Clifford," one person joked. "Sometimes I forget Schnauzers come in large, too," another added. "Giant Schnauzers always look wealthy asf, real sophisticated," another praised.

If, like many of Mom's followers, you're still on the fence as to whether Cairo is really that big or if the video was AI-generated, she filmed a follow-up video to show us all HE REALLY IS THAT BIG!

@allahbia

Replying to @yungbxtch.🐞 yall are so funny😂

♬ original sound - 𝙳𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚖𝚌𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚅𝚒𝚋𝚎𝚜 How Tall Do Giant Schnauzers Get?

Honestly, I never knew that even having "giant" in the name, this breed could stand as tall as human adults. As it turns out, PetMD says these working dogs can grow to be upward of 25.5 to 27.5 inches tall at the shoulder for males and 23.5 to 25.5 inches for females. Weight-wise, females might grow to be 55 to 90 pounds, and the males even heavier.

These powerful yet sweet dogs start to slow down with growing at around 12 months and are fully grown by 18 months. These Schnauzers were originally bred to be brave farm and home guardians, which makes their size something important. I know I'd turn back if I spotted a big boy like Cairo protecting his territory!

Labrador Puppy Enjoys Tummy Time With His Baby Sister

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 6:31pm

Toddler parents know the value of tummy time for newborns, which helps strengthen a baby’s neck, shoulder, and core muscles. What can feel like a workout for a newborn baby is oftentimes met with cries of protest or distress from the little one who would prefer to be comfortably nestled in Mom or Dad’s arms. One baby is getting some much-appreciated tummy time assistance courtesy of the family’s adoring Labrador puppy. This pup is making tummy time so enjoyable that this cute little baby smiles through her time on her tummy rather than crying in agony.

In a charming (understatement) video that crossed our TikTok feed, an adorable baby girl can be seen working on her core muscles while on her tummy. Next to her, the family’s Labrador puppy can be seen examining the baby’s tummy time mat, which is decorated with animated fish that look like they’re swimming in the ocean.

The pooch is transfixed by the mat’s water effect and carefully investigates the ocean-themed mat, not sure what to make of it. The baby looks completely content, smiling through the duration of her tummy time session with her furry best friend by her side.

Why Labrador Retrievers Make Great Family Dogs

This curious canine exemplifies why Labrador Retrievers are often called nanny dogs. Gentle, loving, patient, and protective by nature, Labrador Retrievers’ tolerant temperament makes them natural companions for human babies. Often forming strong, deep bonds with their families, Labradors are especially known to connect closely with children.

Mom and Dad should always err on the side of caution and keep dogs and babies supervised at all times, but playtime and tummy time are surely much more fun for our tiny humans with sweet dog companions by their side.

“He’s just showing her how it should be used!” added one commenter.

“Oh they’re going to be the best of friends,” gushed another.

Dogs Add Something Special to Family Life

This sweet everyday moment caught on video is just another example of how much a dog can add to your family. Just ask this sweet little girl, who is working on getting stronger every day with her loyal Labrador puppy by her side.

'Spiciest' Cat at the Shelter Has a Beautiful Breakthrough and It'll Melt Your Heart

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 6:10pm

Animal shelters can be stressful for displaced dogs and cats. When they arrive at these unfamiliar and chaotic environments after being abandoned or rescued from an abusive situation, these fur babies need a lot of patience, understanding, and time to decompress. Some may lash out at the very people who are trying to help them because they are scared and traumatized. With a lot of love and gentleness, these canines and felines can learn to trust once again.

A shelter cat known as the 'spiciest' of the bunch recently had a promising moment where she let her guard down. Hopefully that's just the beginning.

@rosieandtheshelterpups

SUCH A BREAKTHROUGH 😭🎊 & tomorrow we foster! I’m still in disbelief I was able to pet her!!! & even she lunged at me, she never tried to bite just wanted to scare me. So proud of our spicy girl & can’t wait to bring her home tomorrow ❤️ #spicycat #sheltercat #animalsheltervolunteer #fostercat

♬ original sound - rosieandtheshelterpups

In the TikTok from @rosieandtheshelterpups, the pretty kitty was in her kennel and looked very defensive. A shelter team member named Kayla gently approached her but was met with a hiss.

"Day 5 working with the spiciest cat in the shelter," the onscreen text read.

"Bought some bite-proof gloves today," Kayla explained. "Sprayed Felliway on them. Hopefully the Felliway calms our spicy girl a little bit."

The feline sniffed at the calming spray on the gloves, but soon began to growl at the friendly shelter worker.

"When she growls, I feel the entire box vibrate," Kayla commented.

The shelter cat continued hissing and gave Kayla an icy stare. When she went to get a treat, Kayla heard a higher-pitched noise coming from the kitty but was unsure of what she was trying to express.

Special Treat Helped Pave the Way

The frightened feline still hissed and growled when presented with a Go-Gurt treat, but she calmed down enough to lick the tasty snack and Kayla's gloves. Kayla was able to pet the cat a few times before prompting a full-on lunge from the kitty. Still, there was progress.

"SUCH A BREAKTHROUGH," the caption shared. "Tomorrow we foster! I’m still in disbelief I was able to pet her! And even though she lunged at me, she never tried to bite — just wanted to scare me. So proud of our spicy girl and can’t wait to bring her home tomorrow."

Related: Scared Shelter Cat Who 'No One Could Hold' Finally Chooses His Person in Moment of Sweetness

A follow-up post showed the cat in her foster environment, slowly getting familiar with her surroundings. The kitty seemed a little calmer outside of the shelter, and Kayla was actually able to fully pet her for a bit.

"I think she was so scared at the shelter," Kayla remarked.

When the cat saw her crate, her "spice" came back and she hissed, almost like it triggered memories of the shelter. Kayla gave her space to decompress, then brought her food at night. The fur baby seemed to have calmed down, where she even ate from Kayla's hand.

Kayla is currently contemplating names for her foster kitty and promised to post updates. Thankfully, this cat is in loving hands and can start to heal.

Family Hears 'Monster' in Guest Bedroom and the Culprit Has Us Laughing Out Loud

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 6:05pm

Every family has that one room that feels a little… suspicious at night. The guest bedroom. The hallway that’s always darker than it needs to be. The corner where the air mysteriously drops ten degrees for no reason. So when this family started hearing what can only be described as a “monster” sound coming from the guest bedroom, it makes sense that they did what all of us would do: checked the monitor camera.

And yep, there it was.

@lorio.unleashed

The guest bedroom is essentially my dogs room at this point

♬ original sound - Lorios Unleashed

In the funny TikTok video of the incident, the camera feed shows the dog posted up on the guest bedroom bed like he pays rent, while the most unholy, not-from-this-earth noise comes out of him. It’s not a bark. It’s not a growl. It’s not even one of those dramatic little “boof” sounds dogs make when they’re trying to act tough about a leaf blowing by. This is a full-on creature-feature soundtrack, like your guest room accidentally opened a portal to the underworld, and the dog is auditioning for the lead role.

The on-screen caption sets the tone perfectly: “Caught the monster haunting my guest bedroom on camera again.” The key word is “again,” because this clearly isn’t a one-time paranormal incident. The post caption continues, “I swear it’s like clockwork lol,” which somehow makes it even funnier—this isn’t just a haunting; it’s a scheduled performance. Every night at 9:07 p.m., the guest bedroom gets its nightly “monster” show, and the dog faithfully clocks in for his shift.

What really sells it is the dog’s complete commitment. He isn’t acting surprised by his own noises. He’s not looking around like, “Who said that?” He’s just confidently existing, sounding like a gremlin with a sore throat, as if this is a totally normal way to communicate in a household. Meanwhile, the family is probably standing in the kitchen whisper-yelling, trying not to laugh.

Also, can we talk about how fantastic this page’s videos are? It’s the kind of account where you watch one clip and suddenly you’re fifteen videos deep, smiling like an idiot because dogs are pure chaos in the best possible way.

And honestly, Lola—my Heeler mix—would absolutely lose her mind if she heard those sounds through a monitor. She’d be sprinting to the guest room like, “NOT ON MY WATCH,” ready to file a formal complaint with the monster department.

Sometimes the 'Monster' Is Just a Dog Processing Joy

What makes this video so ridiculously good isn’t just the sound—it’s the pattern. The caption says it happens again and again, like clockwork, which turns a spooky moment into a family inside joke. And that’s kind of the secret sauce of living with animals (and honestly, living with people too): the weird little repeated moments become the memories you keep.

So laugh. Save the clip. Let the harmless chaos be a comfort. Because years from now, you won’t remember the quiet nights.

Also, it’s a good nudge to check your assumptions. We hear something unfamiliar and our brains go straight to worst-case scenario: monster, intruder, spooky vibes. But nine times out of ten, it’s just a dog being a dog—awkward, hilarious, and completely unbothered.

If you want a focused read on why dogs make such odd noises and how to tell when it’s normal vs. a concern, the American Kennel Club has a solid overview.

Pit Bull's Picture-Perfect Pink Toe Beans Have Us Completely Obsessed

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 4:56pm

There's a TikTok that's basically just a mom waking up her pit bull puppy, and somehow it's the absolute cutest thing on the entire internet right now.

Meet Miss Billy. She's a sweet pit bull puppy who scored a perfect 10/10 in the categories that actually matter: pinkness and toe beans.

The video shows Ms. Billy's mom waking her up from her canine slumber with the most official scoring system ever created. They're rating her sleep quality based on three crucial factors: stretch quality, pinkness level, and absolute toe bean perfection.

Miss Billy's scores? Stretch: 9/10. Pinkness: 10/10. Toe Beans: 10/10.

The caption says, "Miss Billy had a great score tonight! 🐾🎀" and yeah, those are championship numbers.

Watching the video is like witnessing the gentlest wake-up call in history. "It's time to wake up Miss Billy," her mom says softly. Miss Billy immediately stretches. Then stretches again. She's so bendy. Then, Miss Billy decides that actually, bed is good, and goes right back to sleep.

Her mom's not having it though. "Look at that pink nose. Sleepy Cheerio for the baby." They're calling her "Miss Piglet" and giving her what they call "sleepy cereal" which is apparently just love and affection in snack form.

The comments are losing it over this puppy. "I just know she smells like warm Fritos in the best way," wrote someone who clearly knows what's up with puppy paws.

"She is soooooo in love with her human 🥰" captured what everyone's seeing—this puppy is absolutely smitten.

"That's a literal newborn baby, OMG" and "She's so baby. Precious!" pretty much sum up her entire vibe.

"What's up with pit bulls being sooooo damn sleepy lol" asked someone, identifying a very real phenomenon.

But the real MVPs are the people screaming about her features: "THE PINKY PAWS!!!!!!!!!" and "THE TOE BEANS!!!!!!!"

Someone got philosophical: "This is how every dog should be treated." Another added, "It makes my day to see pets who are being so loved and treated like this. She is very lucky to have you."

Pit Bulls Are Known for Being Gentle, Affectionate Family Dogs

Miss Billy's sweetness isn't unusual for pit bulls. These dogs have long been popular family pets specifically because of their gentleness, affection and loyalty.

Pit bulls were originally bred as companions, and many bloodlines were specifically developed for work and family life rather than anything else. The breed's reputation for being great with people comes from generations of dogs who were socialized and loved.

Like all dogs, pit bulls are individuals. Their behavior depends way more on how they're raised, socialized and treated than anything else. Early positive experiences—especially socialization with people and other animals—shape how dogs behave as adults.

Miss Billy's clearly getting all the love, socialization and "sleepy Cheerios" a puppy could want. Those perfect 10/10 toe beans don't lie.
