Tiny Chihuahua's Speedy Zoomies Rival Olympic Sprinters Everywhere

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 7:55pm

Dogs getting zoomies is one of the best things ever. My Corgi, Tater, usually experiences her sudden bursts of frenetic energy when Dad's home, because he's the special chosen one. It's funny to watch her lap around the house until all of a sudden, she's done (until next time)!

Franklin is a 2-pound Chihuahua made from spice, sass, and a little engine that could as he zips and zooms around the living room. The very mention of the magic word, "Mom," is enough to crank him into second and third gear, and it's quite the sight!

@stacychermol

His zoomies are NEVER proportional to the situation 💨 👀 #zoomies #dogmom #chihuahua #dogsoftiktok #funnypuppy

Pet parents know this feeling well! The relatable video shows an excited Franklin using everything he's got left in the tank, and it's all in the name of Mom! Blink, and you might miss this speedster because he's covering serious ground in a short amount of time with these zoomies. As Mom joked in the video, he blacked out and won't remember it in 30 seconds (also my Corgi)!

As one fan echoed my thoughts, this is what happens "when the chosen one walks into the room," and it's true. Although Franklin's joy is infectious, and Mom is one lucky lady, the tiny Chihuahua didn't gain viral fame for his sprinting game.

This little "gremlin" is one of the most vocal, theatrical, and dramatic short kings to ever exist, and he's going to tell the world about it. He's such a cute little ball of furry rage that I want to scoop him up and hug him!

@stacychermol

This is my sign to stop Googling in front of him 😭 #clingy #chihuahua #dogsoftiktok #funnydog #tinydog

♬ original sound - Stacy&Franklin 🐶💅 Why Dogs Get the Zoomies

If you've never had a dog who gets the zoomies, you haven't really lived! As PetMD explains, frenetic random activity periods (FRAPs) are random and sudden bursts of energy that dogs get when they have too much energy built up or when they're stressed, excited, or just being a goofball.

No matter what age, pups of all breeds can get the zoomies. They're most likely to happen when their favorite human comes home, after bath time, or during the witching hours (5 to 8 p.m.) when it's time to release what's left of their energy storage. Whenever it happens, and for whatever reason, Franklin's speedy sprints are the cutest!

French Bulldog Following Mom to the Bathroom at 2:00AM Is As Relatable As It Gets

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 7:26pm

Privacy? Most Frenchies have never heard of it.

At least that's the stance of every French Bulldog who's ever heard their human get up in the middle of the night.

There's a very sweet TikTok where mom's trying to sneak off to the bathroom at 2 AM, and her Frenchie is having none of that. No, Sir! The caption says "He's so clingy 😂," which is putting it mildly.

Mom's whispering to not disrupt his slumber: "You could have just kept laying down. You didn't have to follow me to the bathroom. You're tired, it's okay. You could have stayed asleep, honey bun."

@missjoi._

He’s so clingy 😂 #missjoi #frenchie #frenchbulldog

♬ original sound - Miss Joi 🏳️‍🌈

Nope. Here he stands guard with eyes still closed. Stumbling to the bathroom regardless because if mama's going to the bathroom he is also going to the bathroom. No mom left behind. That's how Frenchie velcro-ness presents itself; pure and utter love and devotion.

He's literally following her with his eyes shut and instead employing his adorable bat ears. Still exhausted but absolutely, still committed to the mission.

The comments section got it.

"He said, 'Girl, just pee so we can go back to bed'😂😂😂🥰," translated his whole vibe perfectly.

Related: Fashionista Frenchies in Designer Fits Judge Mom's Dog Walking Outfit

"He's multitasking. He can sleep and keep an eye on you at the same time😂😂😂 Soooo cute!" explained another Frenchie fan.

"Being tired ain't never stopped him from being clingy 🤣🤣" stated the facts.

"Girl, just hurry, he's trying not to lose his sleepy😬💜" because that is actually the worst. I, too, often make my 2 AM bathroom pilrimage with my eye wide shut.

This adorable little Blue Frenchie is clinging to mom like his life depends on it. She's only going 10 feet away for about 2 minutes. Apparently, that’s two minutes longer than he wants to be away from his beloved mama.

He's acting like she's trying to give him the slip.

Eyes closed shut. Feet moving in mom’s general direction. Bathroom supervision duty activated.

French Bulldogs Are Social Dogs Who Bond Deeply and Struggle Being Apart From Their People

Here's why this little guy can't let mom pee alone at 2 AM: Speaking as someone who is currently mom to two Frenchie siblings, they are genuinely social dogs who just love being around their people. They don’t just "enjoy company"; they love it. More like "you are my entire world and I need to know where you are at all times" love it.

Frenchies are known to  bond deeply with their people. They follow you room to room. They are lap dogs who love to cuddle on the couch. They're affectionate to a degree that can definitely tip into clingy territory. Usually, this is just a sign of how attached they get rather than anything being wrong.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

They can get restless when left alone for long periods of time. Being apart from their person? This is definitely not their favorite situation. Even if "apart" means you tried to go potty in private at 2 AM and they're still in bed.

That bond is real. Once a Frenchie claims you as their human, that loyalty's forever. They're gentle, easygoing dogs who adapt well to various different situations—except the situation where you're in out of their sight.

This sweet French Bulldog following mama with his eyes literally closed? That's a French Bulldog operating exactly as programmed. Sleep iss important but, staying with mama's even more important.

Privacy can wait. The 2 AM bathroom visit is a two-person trip now.He's coming. Eyes closed or not.

Golden Retriever Chews on His Sibling’s Face Like It’s a Snack

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 7:20pm

Let’s start here because it really needs to be said. Who needs chew toys or busy bones when you can simply… gnaw on your dog brother’s face?

Not aggressively. Not even with urgency. Just casually. Like this is a normal, everyday activity.

@leighsimon43

#goldenretriever #goldenretrieverlove #goldenretrieverlove #goldenboy #goldenretriever

♬ 原聲 - Prez Moments

TikTok user @leighsimon43 shared a clip of one Golden Retriever gently chewing on his sibling’s face like NOM NOM NOM while the other dog just sits there, completely unbothered, like yes, this is happening, and I accept it.

No resistance. No confusion. Just vibes.

Related: Golden Retriever Insists on Escorting People Down the Stairs Like a Tiny Gentleman

And then the moment shifts. The chewing dog lifts his head slightly, and you realize… he has a tennis ball in his mouth the entire time. Which somehow makes less sense and more sense at the same time.

People in the comments were just as confused and entertained. One person wrote, “Don’t know what exactly is going on here, but I like it,” which feels like the correct response.

Others tried to explain it, or at least joke their way through it, like, “This is how they transfer the brain cell,” and “Their braces are stuck together,” which honestly both feel equally valid.

Some comments leaned into the personality of Goldens in general, like, “Goldens make the world a better place!!! This is epic,” and yes, this is exactly the kind of nonsense they bring to the table.

And then there was, “He's like I know you got my toy, and I wanna hear that dirty little mouth admit it!” which adds a whole storyline I was not expecting but now fully believe.

Also, quick aside, my cat, Meatball, would absolutely escalate this into a full situation and then act like he was the victim, so the calm acceptance here is impressive.

Why Dogs Love Having Dog Siblings Two dogs playing outside.

Image Via: Emily Skeels/Shutterstock

Dogs are naturally social animals, and for many of them, having another dog in the home provides companionship, comfort, and a built-in playmate. Even when the behavior looks a little… questionable, like this, it is often part of bonding and communication.

Play fighting, gentle mouthing, and these weird little interactions are ways dogs engage with each other and build relationships. It helps them burn energy, stay mentally stimulated, and feel less alone throughout the day.

Of course, not every pup needs a sibling, but many do thrive with one, especially breeds like Golden Retrievers, who are known for their social and friendly nature.

If you have been thinking about it, this might be your sign to visit your local shelter or humane society to see if there is a fur sibling out there waiting for your dog.

Dachshund's Elation Over Favorite Human Coming Home Results in the Happiest Tail Wags

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 6:37pm

There is something so pure about a dog waiting by the door for the person they love most, and Marley the Dachshund absolutely understands the assignment. In this sweet video, we see Marley posted up by the front window, watching and waiting for Dad to come home. It is already adorable before anything even happens, because you can tell this little dog is fully locked in.

The video caption says, “POV your favorite person finally comes home,” and honestly, that is exactly the energy. Marley is not casually hanging out near the door. Marley is on duty. He is watching with purpose, holding down his station like a tiny emotional support security guard. Then the second Dad appears, and everything changes.

The excitement is instant.

@marleytheween

she loves her dad🤍🤍 #dachshund #minidachshund #dog #marleytheween

♬ blissful lights - voi

Marley goes from focused little watcher to pure joy in motion, and the tail wags are so happy, they practically carry the whole video. It is the kind of reaction that makes your chest hurt a little in the best way. There is no question how this dog feels. Dad is home, life is good, and the whole world has officially snapped back into place.

The post caption says, “She loves her dad🤍🤍,” and yes, that could not be clearer. Marley’s whole body gives it away. Dogs have such a beautiful way of making love look simple. No speech, no buildup, just one tiny dog lighting up because her favorite person walked through the door.

One comment says, “I would love to come home to that every day,” and truly, who would not? That kind of welcome feels like winning. My dog Lola gives me this same kind of greeting when I come home, and I love her so much for it. There is just nothing like being met with that level of excitement by a dog who acts like your return is the best event of the day.

What makes videos like this do so well? They are sweet, relatable, and impossible not to feel. Anyone who has ever been loved by a dog recognizes this moment immediately. Marley is not just wagging her tail. She is celebrating.

Favorite-Person Energy Is Very Real

Marley’s big window watch is extra sweet because dogs really do form especially strong bonds with certain people. According to Rover’s article on how dogs choose their favorite person, that bond often comes down to attention, positive experiences, affection, and routine. So if your dog lights up for one person in particular, follows them around, or saves their biggest reaction for them coming home, that is not your imagination. It is a real relationship they have built.

That's also a good reminder to lean into the little rituals dogs love most. Daily one-on-one time, gentle affection, play, training, and predictable routines all help strengthen that bond and make reunions even more meaningful.

Basically, Marley was not just happy Dad got home; she was welcoming back the CEO of her emotional support department.

Golden Retriever Insisting on 'Getting Smellies' on Brand New Carpet Is LOL Funny

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 6:34pm

“We can’t have nice things” is a sentiment shared by most parents of toddlers and animals alike. Keeping household items like furniture and rugs looking and smelling new can be a challenge with a pet in the house, especially a curious dog who needs to get its “smellies” in as part of its doggie-required investigation of all new things that come into the house. For Golden Retrievers, serious detective work begins when anything new is introduced at home. That means a major case of the smellies for the furry friend and a major cause of belly laughs for its humans.

Keep reading for a side-splittingly hilarious video of a Golden Retriever turned investigative reporter checking out the brand-new carpet Mom brought home. No, Mom can’t have nice (or new) things, but with a pup this cute rolling around on the rug, it’s hard to do anything but chuckle.

Golden Retriever Investigates New Carpet @wackowinston

breaking it in..

♬ original sound - Lorelei

Charmingly captioned, “POV my dog the second we got a new carpet,” Winston the Golden Retriever can be seen doing his due diligence to check out every inch of Mom’s new rug with every part of his body. The behavior is par for the course with dogs, who use their keen sense of smell to suss out any new situation—that means new furniture and rugs, too.

A dog’s nose is roughly 10,000 times more sensitive than a human’s, making it one of the animal’s most powerful tools for sensing danger and understanding its environment.

New rugs and carpets release strong scents and odors, which dogs will investigate for safety and to familiarize themselves with changes in their home. Since rugs and carpets can release toxins and strong smells—and your pup’s nose is highly tuned—it’s best to ventilate rooms containing new carpets or rugs with an open window or fan.

Winston has clearly made himself right at home on the new carpet. Social media viewers were completely entertained by the dog’s antics, with one writing, “Officially his now,” while another added, “Gotta get those smellies on it.”

Thanks for the laugh, Winston. Enjoy your new carpet.

Rescue Dog's Transformation From 'Struggling With No Fur' to 'Golden Girl' Is Miraculous

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 6:10pm

Niall Harbison continues to work tirelessly saving street dogs through his Thailand animal rescue, Happy Doggo. Some canines are in such horrific medical and emotional conditions that their recovery seems almost impossible. But Harbison never gives up on any dog.

Sienna was found with serious health issues and completely shut down due to trauma. After receiving treatment and rehabilitation at the Happy Doggo sanctuary, she has a new leash on life.

View this post on Instagram

Harbison previously shared that Sienna was initially afraid of human touch and suffering from “horrible skin infections and mange”. She had previously carried several litters of puppies, which further stressed her health.

With unwavering dedication from Harbison and his team, Sienna began the slow process of healing. She received medication, special baths and a special diet along with plenty of love and affection. Soon, Sienna began to blossom.

Harbison recently shared an update on Sienna and her miraculous recovery.

"Sienna’s journey started on the streets of Thailand, where she was struggling with no fur and skin covered in sores," he wrote in the caption. "We knew she needed us, but we truly had no idea just how beautiful she’d become once she healed."

Sienna Has a Forever Home

Sienna looked stunning in Harbison's recent video. Her fur grew back in a lush, beautiful golden-brown coat and she reached a healthy weight. Her entire demeanor exuded joy and contentment, where she finally felt safe and loved. Best of all, Sienna would soon join her forever family.

"She is officially a golden girl now," the story continued as Sienna enjoyed a day at the ocean with some special treats, decked out in her colorful bandana. "We took her out for some beach time and ice cream this week to celebrate her recovery. It won’t be long now until she’s off to her forever home in Wales."

Harbison praised the precious pooch for her resilience and courage, raving, "We’re so proud of you, Sienna."

This Tiny Found Puppy Had a Surprise Plan After No One Claimed Him

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 4:48pm

There is a specific energy to the moment you spot a stray puppy on the street. You look around for an owner, check for a collar and eventually realize that, for the next few hours at least, you are this tiny animal’s entire world.

Sometimes, those next few hours turn into a forever home. You realize that the puppy you saved is no longer a temporary resident, but a permanent resident in your home (and heart).

🐾 SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾

That is exactly what happened with one happy new pet parent. In a story shared on the social media platform Reddit, he explains how he found a dog outside and shared it on social media.

update: the puppy I found yesterday, no one came forward and shelter told me to keep him. I guess he chose me!
by u/Some-Lawfulness-5918 in aww

When he contacted a shelter, their response was simple. If no one steps forward, you can keep him. And just like that, it turned into another foster fail resulting in a puppy finding his forever home.

The story is no longer about a lost puppy, but about something else. As the new pet dad said, “I guess he chose me!”

What Are Fans Saying About It?

Heartwarming stories like this one always bring smiles to our faces, and this sweet story is no exception.

Redditors were so excited that the dog found a home. One person commented, “He is so cute! You are lucky to have each other.” Another person wrote, “Give him some snuggles for me!! What an angel. So glad you guys found each other.”

There were also comments about the way dogs find homes. One commenter joked, “I didn't know there was a Dog Distribution System, too!” Another one replied, “The Cat Distribution System has expanded.” (For context, the "Cat Distribution System" is a popular internet meme and theory explaining that cats choose their owners, rather than being adopted. The theory suggests that the universe randomly sends abandoned cats to people who inevitably keep them.)

When a “Temporary” Dog Starts Acting Like Yours

In one of the comments, the new owner replied, “I mean look at him, it feels like he needed someone and somehow he found me.” He shared a picture of the puppy calmly sleeping on his couch.

Anyone who has ever taken in a stray, even for one night, knows how quickly things can change. Sometimes, dogs need time to relax and feel comfortable in a new home. Sometimes, it happens in an instant.

The puppy follows you from room to room, falls asleep near your feet or looks at you like you already belong to each other. You tell yourself it is "just for now."

And then, in a moment, the dog stops searching for the door and starts settling in. That shift is hard to ignore.

What to Think About Before Keeping a Lost Puppy

Emotion matters, but so does reality. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation as this new pet owner, a few steps can make a real difference.

Firs, check for any identification and a microchip. You can visit a vet for a quick answer. Then, post in local online groups to see if anyone is missing a dog.

Give it a little time. Not every owner responds immediately. But if time passes and no one comes forward, the question becomes personal: can you give this dog a stable home? In this sweet story, the answer was a resounding yes.

Scientists Just Made a Rare Discovery About Dogs, and It Changes Everything

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 3:48pm

The bond you have with your dog might be far older than anyone imagined.

Your dog is not just a pet; they are a biological masterpiece of evolution that began nearly 16,000 years ago. While we often think of "man's best friend" as a modern concept, recent genetic research published in early 2026 reveals that the bond was sealed in the DNA of a small pup in Central Europe during the Upper Palaeolithic period.

🐾 SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾

A new genetic study published in Nature has traced the earliest known domestic dogs back 15,800 years, offering the oldest confirmed DNA evidence of dogs living alongside humans. That is thousands of years earlier than many previous estimates, and it reshapes the story of how your dog ended up curled at your feet.

Related: This Adorable Pug Trend of 2026 Is Catching Owners Off Guard

What Did Researchers Find?

The researchers identified a dog by the bones found in the Pinarbasi region in Turkey. According to their findings, the bones are from a dog that people used to accompany them during hunting and gathering. And according to their DNA research, the bones are 15,800 years old.

What makes this discovery stand out is not just its age, but its clarity. Earlier finds hinted at early domestication, but this one carries genetic proof that these animals were already distinct from wolves.

Photobac / Shutterstock.com

In simple terms, this was not just a wolf hanging around humans. It was something closer to what we would recognize as a dog. And that difference matters. According to the study, 15,800 years ago, humans and dogs were already building a relationship strong enough to leave a genetic mark.

According to William Marsh, a postdoctoral researcher in the Ancient Genomics Laboratory at the Francis Crick Institute in London who was a co-lead author of one of the studies, the DNA evidence suggest dog-like animals were present in western Eurasia by 18,000 years ago.

Previous studies have shown dogs have evolved from wolves, but what this study shows is when.

Dogs Were More Than Companions, They Were Partners

The study also shows something else. Dogs were not just passive companions, following humans for scraps. The evidence shows something mutual.

At that time, humans were hunter-gatherers. Life was unpredictable, often harsh. A dog that could help track prey, alert when there was danger or even provide warmth during cold nights would have been valuable.

And in return, those early dogs received something wolves never had: consistent food, protection and a place within a social group.

Instincts Have Evolved

Think about the last time your dog reacted before you did. Maybe they perked up at a distant sound you barely noticed. Maybe they positioned themselves between you and something unfamiliar. Or, maybe they just stayed close when you needed comfort, without being asked.

That is an instinct that has been shaped over thousands of years, refined through generations of living side by side with humans.

The research shows that dogs have been adapting to us as much as we have to them for nearly 16,000 years. That is co-evolution!

We love seeing these two different dog breeds bonding and becoming fast friends. French Bulldogs and Pit Bulls are remarkably compatible. Both breeds are generally affectionate and loyal, which means they’re strong candidates for getting along.

Introducing any new dogs, but especially a French Bulldog and a Pit Bull, should be done slowly and under supervision due to the breeds’ size difference and the potential for play styles to become too rough.

We love this friendship and can’t wait to see more of Ms. Bella and Mr. Red’s adventures together.

Did a Corgi Really Lead 7 Stolen Dogs on a 10-Mile Journey Home? Here’s the Truth

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 12:55pm

It’s the kind of story the internet loves: a tight-knit group of dogs escaping danger and traveling miles together, led by a determined little corgi, all on a mission to find their way home.

But as it turns out, the truth behind this viral moment is a little less cinematic—and a lot more grounded in reality.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

7 Dogs Move as a Pack Along a Highway

The now-viral video shows seven dogs walking in a remarkably coordinated group along a highway in northeastern China. Drivers who passed by were understandably stunned. The dogs weren’t scattered or confused—they moved together with purpose, sticking close as they navigated the road.

Naturally, the internet filled in the blanks. The story quickly evolved into one where the dogs had been stolen for the dog meat trade and made a daring escape from a transport truck. Then, they allegedly traveled a very specific 10.5 miles together to find their way home.

The story was shared far and wide, with many major news outlets covering the now-debunked story.

@mustsharenews

They reportedly did not split up at any point during their journey home. #mustsharenews #china #dogsoftiktok

♬ original sound - MustShareNews - MustShareNews

The dogs appear to be clustering around a German shepherd, which many viewers interpreted as a protective move for an injured companion.

It all felt like a full-on Homeward Bound-style movie moment, complete with loyalty, leadership and a heroic corgi guiding the way.

So, What Actually Happened?

According to CNN, the viral narrative isn’t accurate. While the video itself is real, the story that grew around it isn’t.

The dogs weren’t stolen, and they weren’t embarking on some long, heroic journey home. In reality, they all belonged to people in a nearby village less than a mile away from where the video was filmed. In that village, it’s common for dogs to roam freely and occasionally wander farther than usual.

In this case, reports suggest the German shepherd was in heat, which attracted the other dogs and kept them moving as a pack. Eventually, all of the dogs made their way back home safely.

Why the Story Took Off

Even though the real explanation is much simpler, it’s easy to see why people were captivated.

Animal stories tap into something universal—loyalty, friendship, teamwork. Watching a group of dogs stick together, especially with a tiny corgi at the front, makes it hard not to imagine a deeper story.

And in today’s social media landscape, those kinds of feel-good narratives spread fast—sometimes faster than the facts.

At the same time, some of the viral interpretations touched on more serious topics, including concerns about the dog meat trade. While those claims weren’t accurate in this case, the conversation did bring broader awareness to animal welfare issues—something many advocates continue to push for globally.

Still Pretty Special

Even without the dramatic backstory, there’s something undeniably charming about the footage.

Seven dogs of different breeds moving together as a group along busy roads and through open fields—and ultimately making it back home safely? That’s still pretty incredible.

It might not be a 10-mile rescue mission, but it is a reminder of how social and intuitive dogs can be, especially when they stick together.

And honestly, the corgi still kind of looks like the leader.

Foster Pit Bull Experiences Love for First Time and Sweetly Shows She 'Doesn't Want It To End'

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 12:30pm

Being a foster parent to a dog is by no means an easy job — it means helping a dog get settled into a new environment who may have had a rough start in life or caring for special medical needs. And of course, this also means saying goodbye when it's time for them to move on to their forever home, which can be so heartbreaking after falling in love with your temporary baby.

But all of the tough stuff is totally worth it after seeing a dog finally get the safety and love they deserve on their journey to the family they'll be with forever, and the Pit Bull in the video below is the perfect example of that.

@rue_thecitypittie

my foster baby 😭 she’s such a love #shelterdog #pitbull #dog

♬ original sound - Black Rabbit Tattoo

On Wednesday, March 25, @rude_thecitypittie on TikTok shared footage of her foster pup giving her the sweetest face of all time while lounging on the couch, basking in all the happiness that comes with having a soft place to land.

"Her first week out of the shelter, experiencing love for the first time and she doesn't want it to end," her foster mom wrote in the video.

Who could blame her? She looks like this is what she's been waiting her entire life to find.

Related: Pit Bull Reacts Like a Diva When Bath Time Is Interrupted

She's only been with her foster family for less than two weeks, but it looks like she had no problem settling right in — especially where her temporary sister, Rue (who is another PIt Bull) happens to be involved.

In this update, Mom shared that she'd only brought her foster pup home five days earlier, and in that time, she and Rue had become such besties that they were already napping together. Isn't that the best?

@rue_thecitypittie

SOMEONE ADOPT HER BEFORE I DO!!! 😭😭😭 #charlotenc #adoptme #shelterdog

♬ Little Life - Robert Gromotka

It really does seem like she found the perfect place to hang out on her journey to finding her forever home — both with the humans and the other dog who live under her roof.

At this point, though, I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up being a foster fail. How sweet is that face?!

Dachshund Is 'Deep in His Disney Era' and Quite the Film Critic

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 12:23pm

Waffles Monroe, the adorable Dachshund, has a lot to say about his latest Disneymovie screening. While watching the animated classic Beauty and the Beast, the picky pup takes issue with the scenes that feature Belle's horse. Waffles barks vociferously every time the character appears, despite the film being his current favorite. He "has been on a Disney kick," according to Waffles' mom, and who could blame him? These movies have relatable characters and mesmerizing colors, especially for a canine, and combined with a stocked snack tray, Waffles' "Disney era" is looking pretty epic.

@thewafflesmonroe

Waffles has been on a Disney kick lately… and Beauty and the Beast is under very serious review. 🐾✨ (He has strong opinions about the horse scene.) #dachshund #dogsoftiktok #disneydog #beautyandthebeast #dogreactions

One viewer in particular agrees with his choice of film: "I mean that IS the best Disney movie," referring to BATB.

After some further investigation, however, I'm not sure Waffles is actually the most discriminating critic. Not long before declaring this film his top pick, the Doxie was firmly team 101 Dalmations:

@thewafflesmonroe

I think my dog just found his new favorite movie—101 Dalmatians! as the movie celebrates 65 years! @Disney #doglovers #disney #puppylove #dogmom #sausagedog

Either way, one fan hit the nail on the head about my feelings toward Waffles' hobby, "Why is watching him watch [a movie] better than the movie [itself]?"

Dogs and the Small Screen

I've always wondered when I see videos like this – or even when my own dog seems to be "watching" TV with me – are dogs actually reacting to what they see, or is it all a blur? The answer, apparently, is "Yes" — dogs can see TV. But what they’re seeing isn't exactly what we're seeing.

Dogs have different vision than humans, so the screen looks a little… off. They see fewer colors (mostly blues and yellows), and depending on the TV, the image can even look slightly flickery instead of smooth.

What actually grabs their attention isn’t the plot—it’s movement and sound. Fast action, animals, and especially other dogs (and for Waffles, horses) will get a reaction way faster than anything involving humans talking in a living room.

Some dogs clearly recognize animals on screen and will bark, run up, or tilt their head like they’re trying to figure it out. But they don’t fully understand that what they’re seeing isn’t real—it’s more like, “Should I go investigate this?”

Also worth noting: most dogs don’t sit and watch TV the way we do. It’s usually short bursts of interest, then they’re back to doing something more productive… like staring at you for snacks. This doesn't seem to be the case for Waffles, but he does seem to have his snack game squared away.

German Shepherd Mix Gnaws on a Hanger With Absolutely No Thoughts

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 12:20pm

There are dogs who are smart, focused, and locked in. And then there are dogs who are... doing whatever this is. This video falls firmly into the second category, and honestly, it is impossible to look away once you see it. I think a lot of us dog parents can safely say our pups are little weirdos, and the one you're about to meet is no exception.

Sometimes, just like humans, our dogs can get bored, and when they get bored, welp, they find weird ways to amuse themselves.

@themrmayor

I still love them tho so idc what he does 😭🤣🤣 @Elizabeth Hudson #fyp #dogmomlife #dogsoftiktok #blueeyeddoggy #overstimulatedmom

♬ i know u see me watchin luvvvv - someweirdcockyloser

Shared by @themrmayor on TikTok, we see a video of a German Shepherd mix just fully lounging, casually chewing on a blue plastic hanger like it's the most normal enrichment activity in the world. The hanger is somehow across his face, and his vibe is completely unbothered, and there is not a single thought happening behind those very beautiful eyes.

And that is the other thing. This dog is stunning. Pale gray eyes, dramatic eyeliner, the kind of face that makes no sense, paired with this level of nonsense behavior.

Related: Giant Great Dane Tries To Play With Tiny Dachshund Puppy and It’s Too Much

People in the comments were completely distracted by how good-looking he is, which feels fair. I mean, this dog may be a total weirdo with his hanger snack, but he is absolutely gorgeous. One person asked, “Why is your dog handsome?” while another said, “Why do I love his eyeliner so much? Drop tutorial, please,” which… same question, honestly.

Others leaned into the chaos of the moment, with comments like, “He’s just hangin’,” and “He’s exactly where he wants to be,” which feel spiritually accurate. Someone else wrote, “That dog is probably the prettiest dog I’ve ever seen in my life,” followed immediately by people losing it over his “smoky eyes.”

And then there were the people who understood the energy completely. “Lol, that's too cute, he's like WTF you looking at!?!” and “He's like ‘Mom look at this,’” which is exactly the vibe. Not a care in the world. Just existing. With a hanger.

Also, quick aside, Kingston, our Pomeranian, would absolutely be terrified of the hanger, get it stuck, panic, and then somehow blame me, so this level of calm chaos feels almost aspirational.

Why Dogs Need Jobs Austailian Shepherd-Husky mix chewing a toy.

Image Via: Sean-ONeill/Shutterstock

Dogs, especially breeds like German Shepherds and their mixes, are incredibly intelligent and were originally bred to work. That means they are wired to have a purpose, whether that is herding, guarding, problem-solving, or just staying mentally engaged throughout the day.

When they don't have enough to do, they will find something. And sometimes that “something” is… a hanger. Or your shoes. Or a very important object you did not realize was about to become a toy. These pooches need jobs to keep them busy and make them exhausted, because a tired dog is a well-behaved dog.

That is why enrichment is so important for these breeds. Regular exercise helps burn off physical energy, but mental stimulation matters just as much. Puzzle feeders, training games, scent work, and even simple play sessions can make a huge difference in keeping them balanced.

A bored working breed is a creative working breed, and while that can be funny to watch, it is usually a sign they need a little more structure and engagement in their days.

Great Dane Serves as the Sweetest Lifeguard for Her 9 Dachshund Siblings

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 11:20am

Every busy pool needs a good lifeguard, and there should be no exception for dogs.

Especially when the swimmers are nine crazy Dachshunds.

But instead of a studly young dude as the lifeguard, these Dachshunds have a senior Great Dane named Harley.

In a new video from @yunabugs, the mom of nine Dachshunds and now one Great Dane (as well as a cat), we get to see Harley being quite a dutiful lifeguard for her very active Dachshund siblings.

She is constantly watching them up close as they swim around in what is only a wading pool for Ms. Harley.

The pool the Dachshunds swim in was built by their mom in their big yard. It's very shallow, and the Dachshunds just love it!

In fact, one Dachshund named Meatball enjoyed his water time a bit too much.

In the video, his dog mom explains that Meatball was in the water too long and drank so much water that he almost drowned.

It was very scary, and his mom even considered getting rid of the pool altogether.

She said she now just monitors him closely during pool time and usually doesn't let him participate at all.

"Is he dramatic about it? Yes, really dramatic, actually," she said. Better safe than sorry, Meatball!

Perhaps if Harley had been the lifeguard, then they wouldn't have had an issue.

@yunabugs

Meatball.. the swimaholic 😮‍💨

♬ original sound - Flower Child Darlene 9 Dachshunds, 1 Great Dane, and a Cat All Love Their Bunk Beds

At the end of the video, their mom gives us an update on the bunk beds she built for her tribe.

Believe it or not, all the dogs were sleeping in her bed before this, including the giant Great Dane.

So she DIY'd it and built them a massive bunk bed fort, and she said the pups love it and spend 95% of their time in it.

Related: Nighttime Routine of 9 Dachshunds and 1 Great Dane in Matching Cow PJs Will Make Your Heart Swell

She did admit, though, that if she can't find one of the Weens, it usually means they are hiding under the loft.

The cat, P.J., also loves the bunk bed, but only the top bunk. She can be found there when she isn't spending time with her pet fish, Ruby!

Could this woman have any more pets?! But we love the happy chaos it creates!

Doberman Hears a 'Doodle' Mom Call His Ears 'Unethical' - His Head Tilt Says Everything

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 10:46am

Getting unsolicited opinions about your dog on the internet? It’s expected but as helpful as your toddler’s parenting advice. Getting trolled by someone whose entire dog is a designer creation? That's irony at its finest.

There's a TikTok where Maverick the Doberman and his mom address some concerning comments they've received; specifically controversial comments about Maverick's cropped ears.

The caption maintains, "Mavs fed up too. He's perfect just the way he is 😭 I don't hate Doodles, by the way, but if we wanna talk about ethics.."

@maverickthedobe

Mavs fed up too. He’s perfect just the way he is😭 I don’t hate doodles btw but if we wanna talk about ethics.. #doberman #doodle #DogParents

♬ original sound - Maverick the Doberman

Mom explains what transpired: "Someone comes and comments on my page, 'Why do your dog's ears look like that? That's so unethical.' And then I go to their page, and they have a Doodle."

Maverick's listening to all this. When he hears his mama say, "a Doodle," his head tilts in the most chalant way ever.

The internet immediately had opinions.

"Anyone else hear the Doberman's entire half of the conversation?" wrote a fan who could hear Maverick's silent commentary.

"'Talkin' bout me, and you got a dang Doodle?'" translated what his face was saying.

Related: Boxer Begging to Go Relax on the Patio With Her iPad Is Legit All of Us

"He really said 'Mind yo business, doodle bug!!!!'"captured Maverick’s energy perfectly.

"The slap of the phone by the Doberman is hilarious 😂" because apparently, Maverick had a physical reaction to the entire situation.

"He looks flabbergasted 😂," that head tilt said everything.

Because here's the thing: someone's calling out ear cropping as unethical while having a dog that was literally designer-created by mixing breeds to meet human aesthetic and lifestyle preferences. That's the exact and real irony Maverick's mom is calling attention to.

Doberman Ear Cropping Is a Cosmetic Choice With No Medical Benefits

Let's be clear about what ear cropping actually is: it's an elective cosmetic procedure. There's no medical reason to do it. Ear cropping doesn't improve hearing, doesn't prevent infections, and in no way makes a Doberman a better dog.

Natural Doberman ears are soft and folded, hanging close to their face. The cropped, upright ears people associate with the breed? That requires surgery when the puppy is young, then weeks or months of taping and posting to train the ears to stand.

Some people feel strongly that the cropped ears are an essential part of the breed's traditional appearance. Other dog lovers feel equally strongly that putting a puppy through elective surgery isn't necessary, and some consider it to be cruel. Both positions exist, and the debate's ongoing.

🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾

Currently, the American Veterinary Medical Association opposes cosmetic ear cropping. Many countries have banned the practice altogether. However, in the U.S., it's legal but becoming less common as fewer vets feel comfortable or are willing to perform the elective surgery.

Here's what matters: whether Maverick's ears are cropped or natural doesn't change who he is or his temperament and personality. His loyalty, intelligence, and personality—none of that relates to his ears.

The irony and audacity of getting ethics lectures from someone with a designer dog created specifically for human preferences? Maverick's head tilt captured that perfectly.

He's perfect just the way he is: cropped ears and all.

Bulldog Stomps His Feet in Protest at Starbucks Over Not Getting Second Pup Cup

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 10:10am

We all have those moments where we get a little demanding. Our emotions can get a bit heightened when we really want something, and our expectations aren't met. Frustration, impatience, and some immaturity take over, and we act in ways we'd like to forget.

Fury the Bulldog wasn't shy about showing his feelings when he was denied a second pup cup and ended up dramatically walking away.

@fury.thebulldog

He gave it a proper go to be fair 😭 #funnydogvideo #dogsoftiktok #englishbulldog #funnypet

♬ Stupid thief's stealthy steps [Comedy-style drama accompaniment] (991302) - SoLaTiDo

In the TikTok from @fury.thebulldog, the frustrated fur baby stood in front of the Starbucks counter. Fury stared at the staff member, expecting her to read his mind and start preparing his additional pup cup. He was calm and cool at first but when he didn't see any movement on her part, he gave her a look that said he wanted to speak with a manager.

The Starbucks manager was more than happy to speak with Fury, though she didn't give in to his request. The Bulldog got a bit belligerent.

"My dog stomping his feet at the manager for not getting a second pup cup," the onscreen text read, as Fury kicked his paws and barked a few times. Hopefully, he avoided using expletives.

Fury Tried One More Appeal

At one point, Fury saw that he wasn't getting anywhere and walked away. Then, he stopped short and turned around to give his request another try. He was rebuffed again, so Fury turned on his heel in a huff. The onscreen text shared what was most likely going through his mind.

"Right... I've heard enough," the text read. "Don't even like your lighting, if I'm honest. You lot should be ashamed of yourselves."

Followers felt Fury should've gotten a second helping and suspected that Starbucks hadn't heard the last of him.

Related: Bulldog's Puppies Invade Her 'Me' Time and We Can Relate

"Don't worry, sweet baby angel... I'm gonna call corporate and complain," one promised.

"He is about to send a strongly worded email," another predicted.

"The look back is like: I am leaving and never come back again," a follower noted.

"One paw review for you! And he’s telling all his friends!" someone warned.

Hopefully, Fury will realize he can't always get what he wants and give Starbucks another chance.

Toothless Senior Yorkie Looks Like a Cross Between a Cockatoo and a Koala Bear

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 9:55am

There’s something about a senior dog that just hits differently. The energy is softer and calmer, like they’ve figured out life and are not interested in proving anything to anyone. They’re happy to curl up next to you, keep you company while you watch TV, or just exist nearby in that quiet, comforting way that somehow makes everything feel a little better.

And then there’s this little guy. A toothless senior Yorkie who has fully entered his next era, and honestly, barely even looks like a dog anymore. Not in a bad way, just in a wait… what am I looking at kind of way. He’s giving tiny koala. He’s giving retired gentleman. He’s giving something I did not expect, but now I cannot stop watching. Check him out.

@whoneedsteeth_

The hilariously adorable clip was shared on TikTok by @whoneedsteeth_, and it's pretty safe to say everyone is charmed by this adorable senior Yorkie, who somehow looks like a cross between a Cockatoo and a koala bear. According to a previous post, this baby was rescued from the streets of Philadelphia, and his dog mom thinks he's about 14 years old.

Related: Angora Bunnies Are So Fluffy, They Look Like Shih-Tzus With Floppy Ears

People in the comments immediately locked in on his very specific vibe, and the reactions are kind of perfect. One person asked, “Aww, how many centuries is he?” which feels both rude and accurate. Another said, “Man, I love goofy small seniors,” and yes, that is a whole category of dog that deserves more appreciation.

Some people were just fully charmed by his look, like, “He looks like he has a koala bear face,” and “He is a beautiful little muppet. God bless him,” which honestly sums it up better than anything else. Someone else wrote, “He reminds me of those little Chenille Chicks for some reason, I love it,” and now I cannot unsee that.

And then there were the comments that really leaned into senior dog energy, like, “The crustier, the dustier, the feistier, the better,” which feels like a lifestyle, and “I think your dog walked with the dinosaurs,” which he absolutely did not, but also… I get why you’d say it.

How To Make a Senior Dog Happy Little senior Chihuahua looks into the camera.

Image Via: kei907/Shutterstock

Senior dogs may slow down physically, but that does not mean they stop enjoying life. In fact, a lot of them become even more tuned into comfort, routine, and the people they love. Keeping them happy is often about small, consistent things that make them feel safe and cared for.

Soft places to rest, easy access to their favorite spots, and a predictable daily routine can go a long way. Gentle walks, light play, and mental stimulation help keep them engaged without overwhelming them. Even just sitting together counts for a lot with a senior dog.

Regular vet care becomes more important as they age, especially for things like dental health, joint support, and overall comfort. But just as important is attention. Senior dogs thrive on connection, and a little extra patience and love really make all the difference.

Precious American Bully Comforts Grieving Human Brother Like an Actual Angel

Thu, 03/26/2026 - 9:20am

As a pet parent, I'm acutely aware of the fact that my furry besties aren't here forever. Just thinking of a time of looking across the room and my senior Staffy's bed is empty is enough to leave me sobbing on the bathroom floor. The good news is, even after the crushing pain of losing a beloved companion, there's always another to save—and they might be the best path to healing.

Potato is one of these sweet dogs who seems like he's been sent from above with a clear purpose: to comfort his grieving human brother. And just like that, the American Bully did the job and passed with flying colors.

@bundleofbullies

Potato felt that his little human was missing his souldog Bean so much that he took that role over and now they are inseparable 🥺❤️💫

In case you haven't cried yet today, @bundleofbullies has what you need.

The video shows the young boy getting all the love from his new rescue pup, Potato. The little boy recently lost his soul dog, Bean, and he's been devastated. The darling Bully understood the assignment, and as Mom wrote, he took that soul dog role, "and now they are inseparable."

Potato Is an American Bully Angel

Potato joined his new "pack," which includes other precious Bullies: Cupcake, Noodle, and Bacon. His presence has been so much more of a comfort to his human brother, but for Mom, too, at a time when all hope felt lost.

After the devastating series of incidents that resulted in the loss of the family's four Bullies—including the fan-favorite rescue with the sweetest smile in the world, Raffie—Potato came along with all the love they needed. He's a natural guardian, protecting their hearts from more pain, and yeah, we're crying.

@bundleofbullies

I am so thankful for Potato 🥔❤️ he is literally saving me..

For a breed so misunderstood and feared because of stereotypes, there are so many pups who fall under the "Pit Bull" umbrella who are the most devoted, affectionate, and biggest babies you'll ever have.

American Pit Bull Terrier, American Bully,Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and American Staffordshire Terrier are known to be loyal "Velcro dogs," highly social, and total sweethearts (despite their bad rap).

I could point to a million different examples of why pups like Potato deserve a second chance in a forever home. But as I watch my sweet senior Staffy sleep across from me, I already know.
