Stubborn Bulldog Puppy Discovers Snow and Dad Quickly Learns What 'Full Potato Mode' Means

Sun, 02/15/2026 - 12:15pm

So you know how some dogs see snow and immediately want back inside where it's warm? Yeah, Gorda the Bulldog is not that dog. Not even close.

There's this TikTok from @GordiesTheBulldog that's gone absolutely viral, and honestly? Once you watch it, you'll get why. The caption says "I love getting these clips to show everyone just how stubborn Gordies is and will always be," which is putting it mildly, "I present the most stubborn bulldog ever!" And wow, does Gorda deliver.

Here's what's happening: This gorgeous merle Bulldog has discovered snow. And she's decided it's the greatest thing that's ever happened to her. She's lying on her back, completely soaked, covered in snow, and dad is trying—really, truly trying—to get her inside.

Gorda? Not interested. She's gone full potato mode. Zero cooperation. Maximum limpness.

@gordiesthebulldog

I love getting these clips to show everyone just how stubborn gordies is and will always be 🤣💅🏽 #fyp #winter #bulldog #bulldogsoftiktok #dogs

Dad's carrying her, practically begging at this point: "Let's go. It's literally snowing out and the floor is covered in snow and you are also covered in snow and you don't even got your jacket on."

Gorda could not care less about any of this information.

Then dad tries negotiating. "If I let you down, will you come back inside? Cause if not, somebody might take you, somebody might steal you."

Gorda is unbothered. Moisturized. Happy. In her lane. Flourishing.

Dad keeps trying: "Alright, let's go. Ready on three. When I let you down, you gotta get up. One, two, three."

He puts her down. She stays down. Obviously. Didn't even try to help herself. Gorda was living her best life.

"That's not getting up, Gordana. That's not getting up. Look, your paws are soaked. You are literally soaked. Girl. Help, please."

The people in the comments? They get it. One person wrote "I think that is a seal 🦭" which—yeah, pretty accurate.

Another comment killed me: "Sir, you have high expectations for a potato 🥔"

@gordiesthebulldog

If youve seen one of our popular videos you now can see she does this in the SNOW. She doesnt care even if its snowing out she will go BONELESS 🤣 #fyp #winter #bulldog #bulldogsoftiktok #diva

♬ original sound - Gorda and Peaches 🩷

People loved how he's talking to her like a human child: ""And you don't have your jacket on" has me for real saying they're like our children." Someone else said "This is the biggest green flag…. 🥰"

Everyone's obsessed, "I love your pet potato 😭❤"

Some folks totally understood where Gorda's coming from. "She said 'dad, listen, this feels GREAT. We don't need to go just yet..5 more minutes' 😂😂🩷"

English Bulldogs Are Basically Professional Stubbornness Champions

Listen, if you know bulldogs, none of this behavior surprises you, not even a little bit. These dogs are sweet, gentle and absolutely hilarious—but they're also famously unmovable. Like, it's a whole thing with the breed. You might think you're stubborn but you've got nothing on a bulldog's stubbornness, so plan for patience and hope for cooperation.

They're super loyal and loving, but they operate on their own schedule. English Bulldogs have this calm, chill vibe mixed with a little defiance for no reason. Training them takes patience because they like doing things their own way. Sometimes they'll just stare at you with this exasperated look to let you know that you are welcome to keep trying but defiance is imminent.

And that's exactly what Gorda's doing here. She found her happy place, and no amount of reasoning is changing her mind.

Like that one commenter said: "That must feel so good. Let Gorda live 😂"

Honestly? Fair point. Let the most adorable potato have her snow day.

This Rain-Loving Dog Demands an Audience for His Puddle Jumps

Sun, 02/15/2026 - 10:55am

Some dogs hide under the bed during thunderstorms. This one? He thinks they're the best thing ever

In a TikTok posted by @kirstengarrison, a very happy pup can be seen standing in his backyard during a full-on rainstorm, panting with a giant, goofy grin and wide, expectant eyes fixed on his mom through the window. From inside, she films him, narrating what has clearly become a very important ritual.

Puddle-Loving Pup Lives for Rainstorms @kirstengarrison

when he was a puppy I conditioned him to love thunderstorms and it worked too well 😭 #funnydog #petsontiktok #cutedog #dogvideos #thunderstorm

♬ original sound - Kirsten Garrison | Author 📚

"My neighbors probably think I'm evil with my dog outside in the rainstorm, but he doesn't want to come inside. He wants to run, jump in that puddle over there—and he wants me to watch him," she says, panning the camera to reveal a large, muddy puddle in the yard.

She opens the door to let him inside, but the dog has other plans. He sprints across the yard and launches himself into the puddle with full-body commitment. Then, just as dramatically, he races back to the window, springing into the air and snapping playfully at the falling rain as lightning flashes behind him. It's pretty epic, honestly.

But the show isn't over. Once again, the pup stares at his mom expectantly through the window—goofy grin, eager eyes—clearly waiting for his signal.

She opens the door and calls, "Come on in," fully aware he has zero interest in actually coming inside. The door opening seems to be his cue. He bolts for the puddle once more, diving in with even more enthusiasm than before.

According to her caption, this rainy ritual didn't happen by accident. "When he was a puppy I conditioned him to love thunderstorms and it worked too well 😭," she wrote.

Viewers Are Loving His Stormy Performance

The comments section quickly turned into a cheering section for the rain-loving pup.

"Please tell him we said that was so cool and we are so proud of him," one viewer wrote in the video's comment section

Another cleverly referenced Natasha Bedingfield's song "Unwritten," commenting, "God forbid he wants to release his inhibitions & feel the rain on his skin 😭."

And one person may have nailed the real reason behind the performance: "He wants YOU to jump in the puddle with him.😂"

Positive Reinforcement for the Win

While thunderstorms can be a source of stress for many dogs, this pup proves that with positive conditioning and early exposure, some dogs can learn to associate storms with fun rather than fear.

As his owner joked, it may have worked a little too well. A rumble of thunder doesn't send him scrambling for cover—it sends him sprinting toward the biggest puddle in sight. And yes, he absolutely deserves an audience while he does it!

Bernedoodle Puppy Is So Fluffy, She Looks Like She Came With Batteries Included

Sun, 02/15/2026 - 10:55am

A Bernedoodle puppy named Arya is quietly stealing hearts just by existing. With her soft gray merle coat, round features, and impossibly plush fluff on her ears, she looks less like a real puppy and more like something you’d find on a toy store shelf.

The clip shows the Bernedoodle puppy lying calmly, soaking up attention while looking perfectly content. There is no chaos, no zooming, no drama. Just peak fluff energy and the unmistakable vibe of a puppy who might need to be plugged in to recharge later. She's absolutely precious!

@aryatheberne

♬ original sound - PV

The video was shared by @aryatheberne with the caption, “When family members ask if Arya is famous yet… she’s famous in this house,” which feels completely accurate. Arya doesn’t have to do tricks or perform. She simply lies there looking like a living plush toy, and the admiration comes naturally. I'd totally head up her fan club.

Related: Bernedoodle Puppy Nailing All Her Tricks Is the Sweetest Girl We've Ever Seen

Comments immediately crowned her a celebrity. One person declared, “Arya is my personal celebrity.” Another asked, “Arya, do you have the energy to do meet-and-greets right now? Looking this cute must take a lot out of you every day. Make sure your hooman gets you a personal assistant.”

Others were even more direct. “You are an influencer, Arya!” one commenter wrote, followed by, “Arya, you’re super famous and adorable!” And perhaps the most accurate observation of all: “She’s so precious she looks like a stuffed animal!”

That is really the magic here. Arya’s fluff is so uniform that she almost looks manufactured. Like someone pressed the “premium teddy bear” setting and forgot to turn it off. The gray merle coloring only adds to the effect, giving her that soft, cloudlike appearance that makes you want to gently poke her just to confirm she’s real.

She may not be famous everywhere yet, but in her house, and now on the internet, Arya is clearly a star.

Bernedoodles are known for being affectionate, friendly, and deeply bonded to their families. They often combine the gentle nature of a Bernese Mountain Dog with the intelligence and playfulness of a Poodle, making them popular family companions.

They tend to be social and people-oriented pups, thriving on attention and interaction. If you are looking for a loving, cuddly companion with a lot of personality and even more fluff, a Bernedoodle may be the right fur baby for you!

Mini Dachshund Thinks Giant Great Dane Sibling Is 'Furniture' and It's Hilarious

Sun, 02/15/2026 - 10:10am

My fur babies — a Dachshund and a Pug mix — are about the same size. Even though my Puggie outweighs my Doxie by a considerable amount, her attitude compensates for whatever she lacks in pounds. She has the trademark Dachshund confidence and doesn't get intimidated, even when she's around dogs five times bigger than she is.

This Mini Dachshund seems to have the same hutzpah and was literally oblivious walking around her mammoth-sized Great Dane brother.

@cotswolds_family_rein

He probably did not realise either 😀 #puppies #dachshund #dogs #miniatures #dogs

♬ เสียงต้นฉบับ - ทียู' เอ็ม - Qwrdtgg

In the TikTok from @cotswolds_family_rein, the canine siblings stood in the living room just hanging out. The Great Dane stood as still as a statue as his tiny Doxie sister walked around him, sniffing at his paws. The Mini Dachshund seemed like she was inspecting a foreign object rather than her fur baby brother.

"She did not realize he was a dog," the onscreen text explained, with the caption adding, "He probably did not realize either."

Maybe they were both unaware of each other due to their dramatic size difference. The Great Dane towered over his little sister, where she wasn't even in his line of sight. The tiny Doxie would have had to crane her neck all the way backwards to get a glimpse of her supersized sibling.

Followers got a kick out of the comical comparison and guessed at what both were thinking.

"She: 'It's a black giraffe!' - He: 'Look, a black mouse!'" one joked.

"Did she think he was furniture? Or a building?" another asked.

"In the little Dachshund’s head and heart, she IS as big as the Dane," a follower pointed out.

"I can just hear the big doggy saying, what on earth is this?" someone remarked.

These Fur Babies Have a Close Bond

Despite their impressive difference in stature, this tiny Doxie and her very big brother are actually besties. Several posts on the social media account show them playing, snuggling, and just enjoying each other's company.

Related: Mini Dachshund Carries Around Lookalike Plushie and It's the Cutest

The Great Dane clearly takes his big brother role seriously and watches over his little sis. He even lets her "beat him up" at times when they roughhouse. The Doxie looks up to her big brother (literally) and often copies his actions like a typical younger sibling.

They may be an unlikely pair, but they're obviously BFFs for life.

Funny Macaw Blows Kisses to Mom in the Most Polite Rejection

Sun, 02/15/2026 - 9:20am

I've never had a bird of any kind, which explains my fascination with the charismatic Parrots on the web. They're like little feathered comedians who don't know how to be chill when it comes to hurting someone's feelings. They say and do whatever they want with their humans, giving people like me more than enough fodder for the day, so I don't rush out and rescue one.

Theo more than meets my criteria for funny birds. This extroverted Macaw is so good at withholding kisses from Mom—then blowing air kisses instead—he's an everyday Romeo who will make you fall in love with him, then break your heart into a million pieces with no apologies!

The video shows Mom asking Theo for a kiss, but she's not getting one anytime soon. Instead, Theo offers up air kisses with a cute little "hello" so Mom knows she has to earn the real affection. Based on the intensity of the kisses he blows, I can tell he's done this before!

Related: Parrot Issues Blunt Response to Mom Asking for Kiss Like a Tiny Romeo

Theo isn't always serving rejections. As a Macaw who's gone viral many times over for his comedy, he has a sweet and tender side, too.

In a December 2022 video, the gentle and devoted boy comforted Mom with some seriously sweet cuddles and a good chat, proving he's capable of giving affection... when he feels like it!

The Hahn's Macaws (like Theo) are extremely intelligent, with the ability to pick up things like vocalizations and tricks quickly. Sometimes their level of smarts gets them into precarious situations—like learning to open their cage door to let themselves out!

These active, noisy, and fun birds aren't for everyone, but for the right homes with pet parents who are prepared to care for them throughout their 30+ years, they make excellent little (chatty) companions.

Theo's conversation skills are actually pretty impressive, considering Macaws are more likely to whistle than say words, but they're loud. Apartment dwellers should have understanding neighbors to have a boy like Theo around!

That said, guess Mom should take his cute "no kiss" rejection as a cool talent, even if it stings!

Rare Piebald Deer Spotted in the Snow Looks Straight Out of a Storybook

Sun, 02/15/2026 - 8:55am

A rare piebald deer spotted in the snow is giving full winter fairy-tale energy. Against the bright white backdrop, the deer’s unique patches of white and brown look almost painted on, making the entire scene feel unreal.

In the clip, the piebald deer quietly eats in the snow, calm and completely unbothered. There is no dramatic music, no sudden movement, just a stunning creature standing in a frozen landscape that looks straight out of a storybook illustration.

@harperyorgey

#piebald #piebalddeer

♬ original sound - JF

The video, shared by @harperyorgey, had people in the comments immediately struck by how rare and beautiful the sighting felt. One person wrote, “As growing up a hunter with my dad, just seeing this deer is a massive achievement in this community. Telling a story about a beautiful buck or doe was always more interesting than seeing them as taxidermy.”

Related: Rare Albino Doberman Looks like a Gorgeous Ghost Dog and People Can't Believe It

Another commenter said, “Piebald deer have to be the most beautiful animals ever,” while someone else added, “This is genuinely the most beautiful animal I’ve ever seen.”

“What a stunning creature!” one person simply wrote, which honestly says it all.

The snow makes the pattern even more dramatic. The white patches blend softly into the ground, while the darker areas stand out in contrast. It is the kind of wildlife moment that makes you pause and just stare for a second.

Someone else shared, “We used to have an albino deer that hung out in our neighborhood,” which makes you wonder how similar, or different, those rare deer really are.

What's the Difference Between Piebald and Albino Deer? @accuweather

A rare sight in the wild 🤍🦌 Albino deer are incredibly uncommon—only about 1 in 20,000 are born with this striking genetic trait.

♬ original sound - AccuWeather

Piebald and albino deer are often confused, but they aren't the same. Piebald deer have a genetic variation that causes irregular patches of white fur mixed with normal brown coloring. Their eyes and hooves usually remain their typical color.

Albino deer, on the other hand, lack pigment entirely. They have completely white fur, pink eyes, and pink noses because their bodies do not produce melanin at all.

Both are rare, but piebald deer are generally more common than true albino deer. In snowy settings, especially, a piebald deer can look almost mythical, like something from a winter legend or Game of Thrones.

And judging by the reaction to this sighting, it is the kind of moment people remember for a very long time.

Golden Retriever Discovers the Sock Drawer and His Unapologetic Face Says It All

Sun, 02/15/2026 - 8:20am

At any given time, you could have a clever little thief sitting right next to you and never know it until it's too late. I'm talking about dogs, obviously, and their unabashed, bold, and downright audacious attempts to take things right before our very eyes, then pretend they did nothing wrong.

For instance, Winnie, the Golden Retriever, is wanted in five counties for his sock-stealing habit (allegedly), but he's so cute, we think he should get a pass.

In a video shared by @winniethegolden10, the curious Golden Retriever investigates this new-to-him sock drawer. Once he finds the stash Mom's been hiding, all bets are off.

As his attorney, I can say Winnie was clearly framed for crimes he didn't commit. The dog sneaking things in this video may or may not be him... who's to say, really? This is an open-and-shut case because this boy is INNOCENT!

Lucky for Winnie, fans are on his side, with many echoing the very true fact that Winnie was not in any way involved with any supposed missing socks. He wasn't even there—he was on a work trip overseas—so this fraud posing as Winnie only to get him in trouble is the one Mom wants.

Related: Golden Retriever Realizes New Puppy Is Spending the Night and the Panic Is Real

Retrievers Love Retrieving

Should Mom like to take this case all the way to the top, it's worth repeating that Retrievers of all varieties (Goldens, Labs, etc.) were born to retrieve. Like an itch they have to scratch, these hard-working dogs will find something to grab. If they don't have a distinct job, they're bound to get into things in search of an item to steal.

The sock drawer is in a pretty convenient, Winnie-level place, so shouldn't that be on Mom? Anyway, Winnie is a pro at the Retriever trait, even taking his stick for a walk when he gets the chance.

@winniethegolden10

You can take the dog out of retrieving, but not retrieving out of the dog... or something like that! As for sweet Winnie and his case, I'd say that's a wrap. He's completely innocent, which means there's still a sock criminal out there somewhere (lock up your drawers)!

Golden Retriever Puppy Has Happiest Tail Wags While Browsing at 'Her Sephora'

Sun, 02/15/2026 - 7:41am

Frankie the Golden Retriever puppy is living every dog’s dream: pushed through the aisles of PetSmart like a four-legged beauty influencer, tail wagging so hard it might earn its own loyalty points. Perched halfway out of the cart, she cruises the Greenies section with the kind of pure joy most of us only feel on vacation or when the barista upgrades us to a large for free.

Her human jokingly calls this outing “her Sephora,” and honestly, the comparison is perfect. Instead of swatching lipsticks, Frankie is air-sniffing every treat bag, toy, and chew within a five-foot radius. That giant Golden grin, those nonstop tail swooshes—this is retail therapy at its finest. One commenter basically speaks for all of us, saying they hope she walks out with “lots of toys,” and based on her VIP energy, it would be rude not to.

@missfrankie

she said she's "just browsing" 💅🐾#puppytok #dogsoftiktok #puppylife #dogmom #petsmartfinds @PetSmart

♬ original sound - goldenbiscuit.tx

There’s something extra sweet about dogs like Frankie who treat regular errands like the social event of the season. For many pups, a trip to the pet store is more than just picking up food. It’s a chance to practice polite greetings, get used to new sights and sounds, and soak up attention from basically everyone within eye-contact range.

Trainers actually love outings like this when they’re done thoughtfully. According to the American Kennel Club, exploring new environments and engaging with different sights and smells can be fantastic mental exercise for dogs, especially when you fold in simple games and cues. A stroll down the treat aisle becomes a mini training session when you ask for sits at the cart, “watch me” around distractions, and calm waiting at the checkout line.

View this post on Instagram

Of course, the key is knowing your dog. Not every pup wants to be the star of the pet-store catwalk. Some, like my dog Lola, would be more interested in getting in, grabbing the squeaky toy that looks vaguely like prey, and getting back to a safe couch. Frankie, though, looks born for this: bright-eyed, relaxed, and clearly convinced the automatic doors are opening just for her.

Turning Pet Store Runs Into Enrichment Wins

If Frankie has you tempted to schedule your own “Sephora run” with your dog, a little planning goes a long way. Experts note that indoor outings are a great way to combine fun with skill-building—short training bursts, sniff breaks, and puzzle-style toy selection can keep the experience mentally enriching instead of overwhelming. Let your dog explore at their own pace, bring high-value treats for focus, and tap out before they’re exhausted.

Do that, and every lap around the store can feel less like an errand and more like what it is for Frankie: a tail-wagging, confidence-building, joy-soaked adventure in cart form. And if you are lucky, you might even leave with a dog who is as tired and satisfied as if they just spent an hour at the park.

Bernese Mountain Puppy's Fluffy Bathtime Transformation Is Impossible to Resist

Sun, 02/15/2026 - 7:10am

My Dachshund and my Pug mix are both short-haired pooches, so they don't require much grooming. That's good news for them because neither of them likes baths. They both get very anxious as soon as they hear the tub water running, and probably count the seconds until their "spa treatment" is over. I notice how shiny their coats are post-bath, but outside of that, their fur looks the same even when they're soaked.

Buck the Bernese Mountain puppy boasts a beautiful fluffy coat which appears very different once it's damp.

In the TikTok from @buckthebernese, the precious puppy faced the camera before his bath and displayed his gorgeous floofy coat in its full glory. Bernese Mountain dogs are known for their thick, plush, tri-colored fur that puffs out on all parts of their body.

Buck is definitely a true Berner, with gorgeous downy-like fluff covering his face, ears, middle, tail, and those adorable, giant, boot-like paws. Post-bath is a different story.

The next clip featured Buck in the tub and soaked to the skin. His once-cottonish fur was pasted to his body, where his eyes were much easier to see without those white eyebrows getting in the way. Still, his sizeable physique stood out.

Buck may have realized his appearance was a bit askew as he sat in the tub. He had an expression on his face that seemed to say, "Um, can I have my coat back?"

Buck Modeled His Clean Coat

Finally finished with his bath, Buck's hair was very spiky due to dampness. Still, some of that gorgeous, velvety fleece fur was coming back to life.

The final scene revealed Buck's stunning coat in all its fullness when it was finally dry. The sunlight bounced of the black, white, and cinnamon hues of his buttery-soft and fully-poofed fur, making him even more irresistible.

Viewers of the video fell in love with Buck and his over-the-top adorableness.

"So cute and floofy," one wrote.

"I want to smooch Buck on the snoot, right where the pink spot is," another shared.

"You're looking so fresh, brother!!" a follower raved.

"THE FLUFF," someone cheered.

Buck could definitely be considered a bathing beauty.

7 Signs Your Dog Imprinted on You, Say Pet Experts

Sun, 02/15/2026 - 6:10am

If you're a pet parent, it’s probably pretty clear that you’ve built up a bond with your pup. But since animals view attachments in other unique ways than humans do, it’s possible that your dog may do something known as “imprinting” with you. However, because dogs communicate differently than people do, it can be tricky to tell how your dog truly feels about you. So, if you've ever asked yourself, "Does my dog love me?" you're not alone. To help you understand your dog better and learn more about this topic, we rounded up 7 signs your dog has imprinted on you, according to a vet.

After all, imprinting is slightly complicated, but it basically means your pet forms a close bond to you early on. This usually happens with a puppy or younger dog, but it can absolutely happen with older dogs. When a dog imprints on a person, it’s more than simple affection—it reflects trust, emotional attachment, loyalty and a sense of safety that your dog feels in your presence. This relationship shapes how your dog communicates love and interacts with you every day and it can be seen in your dog's body language and your dog's behaviors.

So how can you tell if your pup has truly imprinted on you? The clues are all around you, from little glances that follow you around the room to the way they nudge your hand for attention or watch your every move with bright, curious eyes. These dog imprinting behaviors are your furry friend’s way of saying, “You’re my favorite person and I love you!” By noticing these small but meaningful gestures, you can celebrate the special connection you share and understand just how much your dog adores you. Here’s what a vet wants you to look out for.

Related: 7 Sweet Signs Your Dog Loves You & Thinks About You All Day

What is “imprinting” in the animal world?

What does it mean when a dog imprints on you? “In the animal world, imprinting describes how some animals form strong attachments early in life, usually towards a parent or caregiver,” explains Nathaniel Rakestraw, DVM, a veterinarian with TelaVets.

While imprinting with birds is time sensitive—it happens pretty soon after birth—it's a little different with dogs. “Dogs build close bonds over time through experiences and trust,” Rakestraw says. “When people say a dog has ‘imprinted’ on them, they’re usually talking about a deep attachment where the dog sees that person as a source of safety and guidance.”

How Dogs Show They Love You: 7 Dog Imprinted Behaviors A happy dog who loves its owner.

Getty Images Nataba

Dogs communicate their love in ways that go beyond words. When a dog has imprinted on their owner, it reflects a powerful emotional attachment and a deep connection. Here’s what Rakestraw recommends being on the lookout for.

1. They’re your shadow

If your pup follows you from room to room, it’s usually a signs your dog loves you and that they’re attached to you, which is a form of imprinting. “Your presence makes them feel safe, and they naturally want to stay close to the person they trust most,” Rakestraw says. By staying nearby, your dog is communicating that you are the center of your dog's world.

2. They give you soft eyes

This is one of the sweetest ways dogs show love and affection to their favorite person, as soft eye contact is a key form of dog communication. So, if your notice your dog doing this, it's a sign they imprinted on you! “Relaxed eye contact is a big indicator of trust in dogs,” Rakestraw says. In fact, sharing gentle eye contact can increase levels of the bonding hormone oxytocin in you both. “Dogs don’t offer that kind of gaze to just anyone,” Rakestraw says.

3. They do what you do

When it comes to signs your dog loves you and has imprinted on you, see if they copy you. For example, when you’re pumped up, watch your dog's body laguage and see if they are, too. “When a dog starts matching your energy—settling when you relax or getting excited when you do—it shows how tuned in they are to you,” Rakestraw says. “This kind of mirroring usually develops between dogs and the people they feel closest to.”

This kind of behavior is known as emotional mirroring and is a powerful indicator of canine empathy. Over time, this shared emotional rhythm strengthens the human-animal bond and reinforces why imprinted dogs often feel like true companions rather than just pets.

4. They give you ‘check-ups’

How can you tell if your dog is bonded with you? When your dog looks back at you during walks or when they’re in a new environment, it means they’re using you as an emotional reference point, Rakestraw says. “It’s a sign they trust you to help them assess what’s going on around them,” he explains.

This imprinting dog behavior is your dog’s way of saying, “I feel safest when I know you’re here.” Dogs who do this see their owner as a source of comfort, security and reassurance, which is a hallmark of a strong dog-human bond.

Related: 7 Signs Your Dog Considers You Their Hero, Says a Trainer

5. You’re their top dog

Dogs usually respond best to the person they feel most connected to and who has been the most consistent with training and communication, Rakestraw explains, adding that this is often a key sign of dog imprinting on their owner. “When a dog clearly listens to one person more than others, it often reflects a stronger relationship and clearer understanding between them,” he says.

In other words, this is one way how dogs show love that you can watch out for. It's something that pet parents can miss if they don't pay attention.

6. They like your cuddles

Many dogs aren’t into hugs or snuggling because it can make them feel restrained and even stressed out. However, dogs who have imprinted on their owner will often feel differently and often show more affectionate dog behaviors. In fact, a strong emotional bond can actually change how a dog experiences physical closeness. “When a dog is deeply bonded to someone, they may actively seek out cuddles with their favorite human,” says Rakestraw. This willingness to snuggle is a clear sign that a dog loves you, showing high levels of comfort and a strong canine-human bond.

7. They want to touch you

If your dog is constantly leaning against your leg, curling up beside you, or finding subtle ways to stay in physical contact, it’s a strong sign your dog has imprinted on you. “Dogs are surprisingly selective about touch,” Rakestraw says. But if you pup is all about touching you, “it’s a strong sign of comfort and emotional security with you,” he says.

This kind of behavior is a classic example of dog imprinting on their owner and reflects a strong canine attachment. In other words, your dog doesn’t just like you, they feel safe with you.

5 Best Cat Breeds for Stress Relief

Looking for the best cat breeds for stress relief? Known for their gentle personalities and affectionate behaviors, these felines are excellent at helping you relax and feel comforted. Learning how cats show love and reading their cat body language will make it easier to enjoy all the ways these vet-approved cat breeds can reduce stress in your daily life.

Which cats are good for anxiety? With their striking oval blue eyes and signature colorpoints, Ragdolls are more than just a pretty face, they’re one of the top cat breeds for reducing stress. These gentle, affectionate fluffballs earned their name for a reason: when held, they often go completely limp, like a ragdoll.

“These pretty cats are known for their relaxed, people-oriented nature, which can feel grounding for many pet parents,” Gonzalez says. “They often enjoy quiet companionship and predictable routines, making them a good match for households seeking a calm presence.”

Ragdolls also form deep bonds with their owners, which Dr. Amanda Nascimento, veterinarian at NHV Natural Pet, says “can be helpful during stressful times.” As a pet parent to two Ragdolls myself, I can attest that after a long, stressful day, there’s little better than a Ragdoll’s snuggle. “While Ragdolls won't eliminate 100% of your stress, they will soften the edges of it," Gonzalez adds.

  • Weight: 12-18 pounds
  • Lifespan: 15+ years

British Shorthairs are known for their easygoing temperaments, combining calm, steady energy with a generous dose of emotional independence, so it's no surprise they are thought of as affectionate cats that lower anxiety. In fact, they are most popular stress-relieving cat breeds, you can have. “They’re often quiet companions without being demanding,” Nascimento says, making them perfect for people seeking affectionate cat breeds.

This laidback demeanor makes them ideal for people who live alone or who enjoy affection without constant attention. “They’re often content observing nearby rather than being in the center of activity, making them well-suited for quieter homes,” Gonzalez says.

Their steady, relaxed nature is a comforting presence during stressful days, since these teddy bear-like cats offer companionship on their own terms while contributing to a peaceful home environment. Their gentle and patient personalities are a classic example of cat behavior that shows love and how cats show affection in subtle but meaningful ways.

If you love big cats, Maine Coons are one of the top stress-relieving cat breeds. Even though they are the largest domesticated cat breed, sometimes weighing up to a whopping 25 pounds, these gentle giants are surprisingly calm, social and affectionate. “They love to be close to their owner, so they can provide great emotional support,” Nascimento says.

Their friendly, adaptable nature also makes them a wonderful fit for families. Many Maine Coons are tolerant of children, dogs and environmental changes, which Gonzalez says is often a positive contributor to keeping household stress levels low. “They do best when their physical and mental needs are met, including enrichment and grooming,” he explains, “so calm comes from structure, not just temperament.”

Breed Stats
  • Personality: Gentle, friendly, affectionate
  • Weight: 12-22 pounds
  • Lifespan: 12.5+ years

Birmans strike a rare and comforting balance: they’re affectionate cats that reduce anxiety without being overwhelming. “They’re people-oriented kitties that can help with stress and anxiety,” Nascimento says. Their calm, loving nature makes them especially reassuring companions for sensitive households. “They tend to follow their people quietly from room to room, offering presence rather than pressure,” Gonzalez explains. “Birmans soothe by simply being there.”

For cat lovers who crave companionship without constant demands, Birmans provide a steady, peaceful energy (and lots of warm snuggles) that can make any home feel instantly calmer.

Breed Stats
  • Personality: Gentle, affectionate, easy to handle

Persian cats are famously quiet, calm cats who thrive on routines and peaceful surroundings. "It’s this deeply ingrained temperament that can help promote relaxation and makes them a stress-relieving cat breed," Nascimento says, adding, that their personality can help them reduce anxiety in their humans, providing a soothing presence after a long day. Gonzalez agrees, saying, “Persians are known for their low-energy, serene demeanor and preference for calm, predictable environments,” Gonzalez says. “Their gentle nature can be comforting, especially for pet parents seeking a quieter emotional rhythm at home.”

That said, their peaceful presence does come with a commitment. Persians have dense, long double coats that require daily brushing to prevent tangles and matting. They also need their eyes cleaned daily. “They thrive best with proactive, hands-on care,” Gonzalez adds. For those willing to invest the time, Persians offer a steady, soothing companionship that fits seamlessly into a calm, low-key lifestyle.

Plus, no one wants to spend forever in the pet store reading labels. Instead, we opt for making our own limited-ingredient treats.

Shifting to homemade treats gives us complete control over what goes in to what he eats. But, the hardest part of diying things for your pet is knowing where to start. Thankfully, plenty of other ingredient conscious pet parents share their recipes, tips, and tricks on TikTok giving the rest of us a leg up on the process. Making your own dog treats doesn't have to be time consuming or difficult. Pup mom, Gladys Barillas shares an easy, healthy and simply adotable valentines treats. For the red treats, she cooks beets and ground turkey on the stove in water. Once the meat is cooked and the beets are tender, put them in a bleder and puree until smooth and pour into your chosed mold.

Gladys uses an cute mold in the shape of hearts and champagne bottles. For the light pink treats, add two tablespoons of gelatin to the remaining liquid from boiling the beets and mix. To create the light pink color, add plain greek yogurt. Mix the yogurt in until smooth and chill in the fridge for 6 hours.

Once they are solid, pop them out for your pup to enjoy.

How Long Do They Store?

You should store the treats in an airtight container in the refridgerator. They will last for about 5 days. In our household, treats don't last very long, so the five day limit wouldn't be a problem. These can be used as a training treat, a special reward or even as a topper to spruce up your pup's kibble.

What to Look for in Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt has numerous health benefits for you dog, but it has to be the right kind. Dogs can only eat plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt. Anything else can potentially be harmful due to their sweeteners. Many use xylitol which is extremely toxic to dogs, casuing liver damage and possibly death.

According to PetMD, plain yogurt is beneficial for your pup's gut and can boost their immune system. It can help with muscle development. Of course, you should always double check with your veterinarian before feeding your dog new foods, especially if they have a history of health issues.

Darling Dachshund Asks To Play Ball in the Cutest Hide-and-Seek Way

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 8:20pm

A merle Dachshund named Arlo has officially reinvented fetch. Instead of simply dropping the ball and waiting, this tiny genius has turned playtime into a full hide-and-seek game.

In the clip, Arlo carefully carries his orange-and-blue ball over to his dog mama and gently rolls it toward her. Then, instead of standing there expectantly like a normal Dachshund, he scampers behind the sofa and hides, leaving only his little head peeking out like he's playing peekaboo. It's just too cute for words.

The video was shared by @courtdowning21, and the caption reads, “Arlo nudging the ball over to me and then hiding behind the sofa, I can’t,” and honestly, same. I can’t either.

He backs into his hiding place with full commitment. Not even subtle about it. Just a slow reverse maneuver until he is mostly concealed, and then that tiny face pops out to check if the game has officially begun.

Related: Labrador Plays 'Peek-a-Boo' With Mom Just Like a Human Kid in Absolutely Precious Video

The comments were melting. “Somehow fetch and hide-and-seek ended up being the same game, lol.” “Oh, I love the way he hides.” “The way he backs into his hiding place.” “You’re not supposed to see him.”

And then the one that hit right in the feelings: “I can never be a pet parent because what do you mean they don’t live forever, and you experience this for a short time and then you’re supposed to move on?”

That one. Oof.

Most of us dog moms and cat moms know that ache. We laugh at the silliness, we replay the videos 10 times, and we take too many photos. Because these little moments are everything. I’ve watched my own crew do equally ridiculous things. Kingston wedged under my sweater while I work. A cat claiming the sunniest square of carpet like it’s a legal entitlement. You blink, and they’re older. You blink again, and you’re grateful you paid attention.

Arlo hiding behind the sofa like he invented stealth mode is exactly the kind of thing you replay later and smile about.

And yes, I watched this more times than I’d like to admit.

How To Teach a Dog To Fetch @bestbuddydogtrainer

5 HACKS to Teach Your Dog Fetch 🎾 #fetchdog #puppytips #puppyadvice #dogadvice #puppytips101 #puppytraining #dogtrainer #tipsfordogowners

Teaching a dog to fetch usually starts with building excitement around the toy. Use something they already love, toss it a short distance, and reward them enthusiastically when they bring it back. Keeping sessions short and fun helps them stay engaged.

For some dogs, like Arlo, fetch naturally evolves into something more creative. If your pup starts adding their own flair, like hiding between throws, lean into it. Play is bonding. Whether it’s classic fetch or fetch plus hide-and-seek, the goal is the same. Time together.

National Zoo's Adorable Baby Elephant Has a Name as Fans Helped Endangered Species

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 7:42pm

The Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute's new Asian elephant calf has a name! Linh Mai [LIN-my] edged out three other names in a contest where the public's fundraising dollars were cast as votes. (One dollar counted as one vote.) The zoo raised almost $59,000, with Linh-Mai garnering 39 percent of the total, which equals about $23,000.

The money will go toward the zoo's $23 million fundraising campaign to help endangered Asian elephants. Less than 50,000 remain in the wild. It's been 25 years since the zoo has had a successful Asian elephant birth, and zookeepers and staff are overjoyed.

According to the National Zoo, Linh means "spirit" or "soul" in Vietnamese, and Mai refers to the apricot blossom, a flower associated with Tết, the Vietnamese New Year, which falls on Feb. 17.

Linh Mai was born to mother Nhi Linh and father Spike on Feb. 2, weighing 308 pounds and 38.5 inches tall. She was named when she was just 11 days old. While she bonds with her momma and the rest of the herd and learns elephant ways in her early months, she will be out of sight from zoo visitors until spring. When she does emerge, people all over the world can watch her in real time on the zoo's Elephant Cam. The closed-circuit camera is offline for now to give mom and baby some privacy.

How Asian Elephants Differ From Their African Counterparts

Roshan Patel / Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute

You may know that elephants are the largest land animals on the planet, and you may have heard elephants walk on their toes. The bottoms of their feet are like thick pads that work as shock absorbers from their own weight as they walk.

Even though Asian elephants are smaller than their African counterparts, they can weigh between 6,000 and 12,000 pounds and stand between six and 12 feet tall. They are estimated to live for about 50 years, but further research is needed to confirm this.

Related: African Grey Parrot 'Torments the Cat' From His Cage and It's Totally Epic

Asian elephants have smaller ears than African elephants, which makes them better adapted to their native forest habitats. On hot days, they flap their ears to cool down their bodies. They're found in India and Southeast Asia, including China, Sumatra and Borneo.

In the wild, Asian elephants eat about 165 to 330 pounds of food and drink around 50 gallons of water daily. Large males can put away twice that much, according to the Smithsonian. They eat grass and fruit, as well as vegetation called browse, which includes trees, leaves, roots and twigs. They can easily destroy crops and get on the wrong side of farmers. At the National Zoo, their diet consists of hay, grains, fruits, vegetables and nutrient-rich pellets of vitamins and minerals.

Elephants are social animals and live in herds, predominantly made up of the family's females. They have large brains and are considered intelligent and capable of learning. Adults have no predators other than humans, but young calves are vulnerable to tiger attacks.

The National Zoo's Asian elephant conservation program focuses on research of these animals in zoos and in the wild.

'Cerified Yapper' Australian Shepherd Sounds Like a Disappointed Killer Whale

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 7:20pm

I've always wondered if dogs who "talk" a lot know what they're saying, or if they just let the sounds fall free, hoping we'll figure it out. Some of these pups just have the gift of gab, and they need the whole world to know. But it's the ones with a unique sound all their own I've got to hype up.

Enter Stella. If you've never heard a dog make sounds comparable to a killer whale, then you haven't met the "certified yapper" Australian Shepherd. This Chatty Cathy has some tea to spill, but it might be meant for her ocean buds.

Happy Australian Shepherd poses in the grass with tongue out.

Stella's doing her best to convey something. Even if we can't understand it, you'd have to be pretty tough to deny those crystal blue eyes and adorable nubby tail wags! Take a listen and see if you can figure out what in the world she's saying.

If a 9-second clip of Stella's disappointed killer whale sounds can boost a mood (which it did), I'll put this one on replay the rest of the day. She's so passionate!

Some of the sweet Aussie's fans adore the "grumble" while supporting the yappy girl's right to speak her mind. For all we know, she could be declaring her run for president or confessing secrets from alien worlds. Maybe we should ask the whales what they think about it.

Chonky Orange Cat With Tiny Eyes Looks Like a Medieval Painting

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 6:55pm

There is something about Orange Cats that already feels a little… Renaissance-coded. The confidence. The audacity. The complete refusal to blink first. But one particularly chonky Orange Cat has officially entered fine art territory thanks to a viral TikTok that has people insisting he looks straight out of a medieval painting.

In the clip, the round-faced fur baby stares into the camera with the tiniest, most judgmental eyes you have ever seen. His human writes, “Everyone keeps saying I look like a medieval cat painting,” before showing side-by-side examples of actual medieval artwork that look suspiciously identical. Then comes the follow-up caption: “I literally don’t see it?”

Sir. Be serious.

@sweetener_the_cat

I don’t even know what a medieval is. 🙄 #orangecat #cutecat #catvideo #fyp #viral

♬ son original - sweetener

The hilarious clip was uploaded to the TikTok account @sweetener_the_cat, and the comparisons are honestly brutal in the best way. Medieval cats were famously a little… off. Slightly too round. Eyes a bit too small. Expressions permanently locked in: “I rule this kingdom.” And Sweetener matches that energy perfectly.

Related: Black Cat’s Brown Body Makes It Look Like He’s Wearing a Fur Jacket

One commenter declared, “Clearly, he’s the last branch of the royal bloodline.” Which feels accurate. There is something deeply aristocratic about the way he stares, as if he owns several castles and a questionable amount of land.

Another person wrote, “He’s just got them regal eyes, judging us peasants extra hard all the time.” Exactly. That is not a house cat. That is a king, or at least an extra on Game of Thrones.

“Aww, you are just the cutest little pierogi,” someone added, which might be the most specific and correct description for this Orange Cat on the internet today.

Of course, not everyone was focused on the medieval roast. Plenty of viewers were simply in love. “You look like perfection, sir.” “Medieval or not. He’s absolutely ADORABLE.” And perhaps my favorite: “Oh no, he needs his own painting. He is cheeky perfection.”

Personally, I think the resemblance is undeniable. If someone hung a portrait of Sweetener in a drafty stone hallway and told me it was painted in 1324, I would not question it for a second.

What Is FIV?
@sweetener_the_cat

My sweet FIX+ Baby 🥺😭 #orangecat #cutecat #catvideo #fyp #viral

♬ son original - sweetener

Sweetener is also FIV positive, which stands for feline immunodeficiency virus. FIV is a virus that affects a cat’s immune system, making it harder for them to fight off infections.

It is most commonly spread through deep bite wounds, which is why it is more frequently seen in outdoor cats who have gotten into fights. The good news is that FIV-positive cats can live long, happy, completely normal lives, especially when they are kept indoors and receive regular veterinary care.

It doesn't spread easily through casual contact like sharing food bowls, grooming, or snuggling. So an FIV-positive kitty like Sweetener can absolutely thrive in a loving home without posing a major risk to other cats in stable, nonaggressive households.

In other words, medieval royalty and medically resilient. We love a layered king.

If anything, this just proves that Orange Cats have been unhinged works of art for centuries. Some things truly never change.

Tiny Dog Playing Fetch With Himself Is Your Daily Dose of Joy

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 6:48pm

On days when it is hard to smile, a funny dog video can always crack us up. And when that video follows an inspirational journey, it makes it even better.

Tiki, an internet sensation with a traumatic past, who is now living his best life, has a new video on TikTok. In it, we see him playing fetch with himself with his favorite toy. It is heartwarming how much joy and happiness this dog brings to a home.

Throwing the toy all over the kitchen, Tiki keeps the toy within reach with short and quick movements. He flips it forward with his mouth, tracks it as closely as it lands, and then rushes after it. After each successful catch, he tosses it again, turning a simple toy into a full entertainment routine.

If you are having a bad day, Tiki is a perfect antidote and will surely bring a smile to your face.

Tiki's Journey From Trauma to Fame

Tiki is one of the many dogs that Isabel Klee has fostered throughout the years. She has fostered more than 30 dogs, making her a well-known figure in the pet-fostering community.

Tiki was initially a dog that many believed was beyond rehabilitation. Yet, under Klee’s care and guidance, the small dog thrived and became an Internet sensation.

Klee also helped him find a forever home. Tiki's story is a clear example of how rescue pets move from a traumatic past to living their best lives. Now, as part of his forever family, he is one of the brightest stars on TikTok, with more than 500,000 followers. One of the comments on his latest videos perfectly sums up the journey Tiki went on, saying, "Remember when Tiki couldn't toy with guys? Oh my heart." Well, now he plays with his favorite toy all day long.

The Importance of Mental Stimulation and Play

For dogs, mental stimulation plays a direct role in shaping their behavior. Dogs that get consistent opportunities to solve small challenges and play show fewer boredom-related habits. From our time following Tiki's journey, we know she is a good girl and loves playing.

Play supports emotional balance. When dogs engage with toys or games, their bodies release energy in a controlled way. It helps reduce restlessness and supports calmer behavior during quiet periods.

Independent play, such as the fetch game Tiki plays in the video, is beneficial for dogs that spend time alone during the day. And often, dogs find ways to play with themselves to satisfy their physical and mental needs.

Adorable Cats Host Their Own Hilarious Winter Olympics Showdown

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 6:48pm

The Winter Olympics are underway in Milano Cortina, and so far, they have given us a fair share of excitement and amazing performances. Yet, sometimes, the best Olympics moments happen outside of the tracks.

Meet Winston and Spooky, two popular cats on TikTok. Their owner decided these two deserved their own Olympics, so they set up a miniature winter sports course across their hallway for them to enjoy, and the Internet is loving the video.

Who do you think will win the Winter Olympics in Winston and Spooky’s house? Well, it was close, but each cat won their own event (even if one came at the expense of an adorable disqualification).

@winstonandspooky

Winter Cat Olympics: Day 1 #catsoftiktok #cattok #olympics #catchallenge #cute

♬ The Olympic Games Fanfare - Geek Music

The pair of house cats competed in two sports: their own version of downhill skiing and slalom. Their owner used lightweight household items and materials to create the "courses." New textures and physical challenges like these can prevent boredom in indoor pets, and you can tell these cats loved their new activity (especially because it came with food).

You can see in the video the cats’ natural reactions to unfamiliar terrain. Their body language shows alert ears and cautious movement, followed by a quick burst of energy, which is exactly how cats respond to new textures or environments.

When we think about mental stimulation, we often think of dogs, but cats need it as much as dogs. The difference is while dogs crave social interaction and structured training, cats rely on instinct-driven behaviors (like problem-solving and stalking).

One thing is for certain: whether Winston or Spooky won, fans loved the imagination of their owner. And how can you not love kitty Olympics?

The comment section was full of people cheering on the cats. "More invested in this than the actual winter Olympics," one person wrote in the video's comment section. Someone else said, "Honestly this is better than the TV coverage!"

Can Cats Tolerate Snow?

While the indoor Winter Olympics are a fun idea, don't try to put your cat on their own snowy adventure outdoors for long periods of time. Yes, most domestic cats can tolerate brief exposure to snow if they're healthy, but they need access to warmth afterward.

Related: Stunning Maine Coon Cat Stares in Pure Wonder During First Snow in NYC

Long periods outside might result in freezing conditions, even more so with short-haired breeds. Veterinarians suggest limiting outdoor snow play to supervised sessions.

The problem with snow is that it can collect between paw pads, which may lead to irritation or small ice buildup. If you let your cat outside during the winter months, make sure to check their paws after exposure and dry their fur to prevent prolonged dampness.

Signs of freezing discomfort in cats include lifting paws repeatedly, shivering or seeking shelter.

This $18 Puppy Hack Is Saving Dog Owners So Much Stress

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 6:30pm

Whether you’re a first-time pet parent or a seasoned pro, potty training your little one takes patience, consistency and a bit of creativity. While some parents have private yards to rely on during those in-between weeks before their puppy is fully vaccinated, apartment dwellers and those without outdoor space often have to get more resourceful.

Thanks to the ingenuity of miniature Dachshund @shortkingkoko’s parents, a new training hack is making waves online and proving to be a surprisingly clever solution. Ideal for apartments, vacations and more, you can grab everything you need for this easy $18 trick at Home Depot and instantly upgrade potty time without having to head downstairs.

View this post on Instagram

Before diving in, it’s worth noting that in @shortkingkoko’s video, Home Depot gave them the lid for free since they weren’t buying the bin. And after measuring and cutting the astro turf, he mentions that in all it cost about $18.

With that in mind, it’s worth flagging down an employee and asking about your project, you never know, you might get lucky too. Also, Home Depot doesn’t sell pheromone spray, so it’s safe to assume mom and dad already had that on hand.

“For all you new puppy parents that live in an apartment,” says Kok’s dad, “Our puppy doesn’t have all his shots yet so he can’t go potty where all the other dogs go, and honestly, we don't want to wake up in the middle of the night to take him down every time he has to go.”

So how does it work? First, clear a spot on your balcony, porch or even inside if you don’t have outdoor access, and set the 40-gallon lid on the ground, right side up. Next, take your 2.5 x 3-foot piece of astro turf and lay it inside the raised edge perimeter of the lid, letting a few inches hang over the front and tucking some underneath just in case your puppy misses. Finally, spray the turf with pheromone spray and get ready for those first training moments.

Related: Costco's Chic Pet Lounger Is ‘So Fancy,’ Shoppers Can’t Get Enough

“At first he was skeptical, it took a little bit of patience and some light encouragement, but in the end…success,” Koko’s dad tells viewers.

What we love about this trick is that it’s DIY ingenuity at its finest. Sure, it might cost a little more or a little less depending on the factors mentioned above, but it’s still a smart, unique solution to a common training snag that anyone can try at home. If you’ve ever had a pet in an apartment, especially several floors up, you know all too well the struggle of those impromptu late-night potty trips downstairs.

“This is a great hack,” one fan raved in response to Koko’s post. “This is genius and exactly how I got my baby to go once he had his shots,” another said. “We used turf first, then real grass,” they added, giving viewers even more ideas by showing a real grass alternative and taking the hack to the next level.

If you’re in the throes of potty training yourself, definitely give this hack a try and see what ways you can make it work for your little one. While you’re at it, check out Costco’s chic new pet mattress and Aldi’s $5 snack boxes for more puppy essentials.

120-Pound Golden Retriever Hilariously Runs Away Whenever His Tiny Cat Sibling Walks In

Sat, 02/14/2026 - 6:10pm

My Pug mix always barks a lot when he sees another animal on our walks. It could be a dog, squirrel, or bird, where he automatically starts mouthing off. There's an outdoor cat in our neighborhood and he puts on quite a vocal show every time he sees the pretty kitty, yet as soon as he gets within a few feet of the fellow fur baby, he bolts. He's the living epitome of the old adage, "all bark and no bite".

Murphy the Golden Retriever doesn't seem to have a barking issue, but he definitely makes a break for it whenever his little cat sibling enters the room because of a previous incident that haunts the pooch to this day.

In the TikTok for @kayleehubly, the camera closed in on a sweet white cat hanging out on a bed, minding his own business. The pretty kitty walked toward the edge of the bed and saw his much larger Golden Retriever brother standing by the end table with his head down, investigating something on the rug.

The little cat quietly jumped onto the end table to see what his fur baby brother was up to, but was completely non-threatening in his approach. Yet the second Murphy felt the kitty's presence, he looked up and high-tailed it out of the room the second he saw the cat.

It's hard to fathom that Murphy would be afraid of his feline brother since he is obviously much bigger and would be considered an intimidating size. Still, this wasn't an isolated incident. Apparently, a past altercation still lingers in Murphy's mind and has impacted their relationship.

"My 120-lb Golden Retriever whenever the cat gets near him since he got swatted once," the onscreen text explained.

Followers Saw Murphy's Point of View

Viewers of the video shared similar stories of their pets and understood Murphy's strong reaction.

"My dog won’t walk in the same room as my cat and just sits and cries," one posted.

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me," another noted.

"I don't blame him," a follower remarked.

"I have a shepherd/rott/doberman mix and he reacts the exact same way," someone revealed.

Hopefully, in time, Murphy and his cat sibling can heal this rift and become friends again.
